New to WFP help

Hey guys, I’m shopping pure water systems and wfp and am lost as to what exactly I need. If I can get some quick questions answered I’d be grateful!

I live in Arizona. From what the University here says, the TDS ranges from 350-450ppm. Definitely hard water…
So I should be looking at ro/di for good results? What accessories do you all consider must haves? I’m worried about “bug matter” and smudges on two stories and above so I was thinking of a back brush attachment or something abrasive if needed. And how about a reel of hose? What is a standard solid length?

Also, a slightly unrelated question to all of this would be does everyone raise prices once they enter the world of WFP? If so, how much on average to at least cover your new overhead?
Thanks!

Yes you will want a RODI in AZ. The Xero Deluxe comes with the multi tool which will give you a bronze wool backflip for extra scrub
Most do not raise price when you use a wfp. Here is the unit you want. https://shopwindowcleaningresource.com/xero-complete-package-hard-water-frequent-use.html

How much work do you have for the pole? As in how often are you going to be using it?

How many stories tall are you going to be using it?

Some poles are X feet tall, and you can’t add sections. So it’s important to get the pole size you need right the first time. If you are going to be over three stories, you’ll want a stiffer carbon fiber than three stories and under.

If you are going to be using the WFP much, the RO/DI makes sense. It will save you A LOT of money over time. If you don’t use it much, it may make more sense to just run DI.

You may also want to consider a pump for your filtration system. I use a Wayne PC4 for my system. It makes a difference on low well pressure and above two stories.

Yes charge more. Upon implementing a wfp system you step into a minority profile of companies. It’s a specialty tool.

i recommemd the xero pro + Da component.
i recommend getting a tank, pump, controller, switch… i have a mobile unit that i can use on resi and large storefronts. because its mobile, i only need 100 foot of tubing.

hey Luke what dashcam mount do u have for ur go pro? i have the silver. i also get alot of movement in the waterproof case which renders the audio inaudible. any suggestions?

I’m looking to use it whenever I can on every job. I’d like to reach 3 stories. The idea of being able to add or take away sections is super appealing to me but are there any downsides to this? I mean why would anybody have more than one pole?

How many of you guys use boars hair brushes? Does it eliminate the need for bronze wool? I’m concerned about not getting the glass clean enough. Little bit of a perfectionist here lol

We have various poles we use a $5,000 Pole that reaches six to seven stories that we usually only use at five, six, seven stories. It is not used lower than that just due to the wear and tear on that expensive of a pole. We have other poles that will use three to four stories and then we have lowers for 2nd and 1st. Choose the appropriate size pole also takes the fatigue factor out of it. Why carry a pole around that is capable of reaching 75 ft if you’re using it on second and third floor Windows way too much weight to throw around.

Great advice.

The right tool for the job at hand.

I meant in the context of a pole that you can easily slide out sections and pop them back in as you please. I learned that you generally cant do that above 40 feet

I had a Gardiner Ultra Light i think it was called, 60’ that had about 10 sections that did that too. I liked that pole for a solo one. I just needed to add the number of section required at each height, dropping section for lightness as I worked down. Was very lightweight.

If you are solo and stay that way for a bit, it makes more sense to have one pole that does everything you want (aka a pole you can add sections to).

I can take the first section out of mine if I am doing a single story home and that way I don’t need to carry the whole weight of the pole, for the job. I can also add three extra sections to mine to boost my max height.

I use Bronze wool. I’ve tried the Unger boar’s hair, and not a fan. Some guys love it.

Where at in AZ?

You have to price WFP accordingly based on the tame it would take with traditional methods. A WFP can be 1.5 to 3 times faster. If I’m doing 2 story or above by the hour I will charge at least 2x my normal rate.
