New construction cleanup opportunity

Hello all,

I don’t post much since I am still in the learning stages, however I have a potential opportunity to bid on a commercial new construction cleanup. I do floor cleaning and waxing also and it was through this that the opportunity arose. I know how to bid flooring jobs and am learning to bid better prices on my window jobs thanks to you all. I just do not have a clue where to begin with this bid.

Details that I know of to date are and it ain’t much:
20,000 square foot new facility
Need cleaning after all construction

Has anyone had any experience or input towards this. I have to fill out a 9 page questionnaire on my company, bonding, insurance, financials and job history. I do not expect to win the bid, but rather just get my name into the firm which is the largest commercial builder in my town and who knows what may come and to go through this exercise is a learning experience for me.

I would assume I would be cleaning up after every trade, so dust removal, paint on surfaces and floor cleaning, etc. is what to expect, any input is helpful.

Thanks in advance

John

We don’t currently get into total construction cleans but have been checking into it recently.

This type bid process is very common here even for windows. We do these frequently where multi page reports and questionnaires on our company background is submitted with the bid.

What I have found here is usually companies use a price per square foot that includes basically walls the floors, trim, cabinets, windows any cleanable surface is included.

This type of bid it will generally include a bid packet that will clearly identify the scope of work. responses should be completely thorough and clearly identified to match what is being asked for. Like anything double check your bid a few times before submitting.

Correct, very good learning experience for you, take advantage of it.

Thank you very much, I will see if I can get the construction company to supply me a bid packet. I’m sure something from this exercise can or will be useful in other job bids. If nothing else I’ll get my name out there some more.
