Needed (old version) zero degree swivel Handles

Thanks for the idea Jonny!

Im was hoping that someone from the forum that dont like the handle would be willing to part with one or a few of them.

So much to do about zero degree handles! I use a fifteen degree all day every day. Once on the older design Unger green I took a hack saw to it and bent it out to a fifteen. Love the zeros. Really want to figure out how to make a zero degree that would hold a Sorbo. I’m just going to set up my own work table in the shed so I can make my own tools.

Thats a great idea Henry about the work table. I like the zero degree I/we use them everyday.

I would like to add 2-3 of the old version ones to the arsenal, meet and old timer a week ago while I was out running one of the routes, He was in his late 70’s early 80’s and we got to chatting about window cleaning turn out he was in the trade for 40+ years and he went to his truck and pulled out the old version zero degree and he ask if he could give it a whirl on this store front i was working on, and to say the least he could fan with that thing on a pole like he was in his 20’s. So long story short I tried to purchase it from him and there was no way he would part with it!

So If you or anyone comes across one or a few or have them setting on a shelf in the garage collecting dust… I’m a buyer!

Just thought I would bump this thread, I haven’t come across any yet.

If you guys/gals spot one or a few floating let me know, THANKS!

Put it an a Ettore Contour Pro + handle, to wide bodied channels. Lock the handle in zero degree angle and BOOM - You have it!

I am using a new Zero from Unger. Want to get a couple more. Need to also get a Contour Wide Body handle for Sorbos desperately. Like next week. Also I am guessing if you emailed Dane or Mark Unger and pleaded with them they might be able to pull up some from the US or Germany. These things are floating all over the world you know. I remember twenty years ago Dane had come back from a trip to Japan. I miss those guys. Should try to communicate with them again somehow.

Thanks Henry i did shot out a few emails to Unger, no responses so far, per @jonnyald Jonny’s recommendation.

We will see if i get to add some to the tool arsenal.

The unger zero degree is our work horse, it comes in very handy!

Then what we do is ask Chris and Alex to contact them for us. I will try too!!!

the beauty of the Mk 1 was it was balanced and had the pivot close to the channel, the design was right !

one idea might be to use the handle from an Unger swivel Tbar [this is exactly the same handle/pivot part as the zero degree had ] and fit/modify to fit a jaw from some other squeegee to match

Great Idea @jonnyald I give it try later today! Never thought of that… I got a couple extra hanging around

I have one and my colleague also. I think I can take his retro model and swap it to the newer version. He wouldn’t care.
But shipping from Sweden maybe wouldn’t be worth it…

Thanks Jonathan i would never want to take a mans tool that he makes his living with! even if you would down grade his tool!

…hmm i wonder how much shipping from Sweden would be :confounded:

I have to admit that I have only worked with the old version.
What makes it so much better then the new one?

The pivoting point is closer to the channel which gives you more control.

Aha, of course!
I remember the first time I would clean store fronts and the old man who would show me gave me this tool.
First I saw him he squeegee a window with that tool on a pole, and I thought “wow”.
But surprisingly for me, when I cleaned my first window it was really easy. Felt like a pro immediately.
So it’s easy tool to use. Gives you really good control as you mentioned.

@whatapane

I just noticed this…lol

I have a question where did you get this adjustment fitting/screw??

It’s an old squeegee I had in my pile of tried it and didn’t use it. I think I have the old screw in the same pile. The original is adjustable by hand but as long as you have the same thread you could use a brass bolt. You could find one at Ace hardware. The have assorted bolts etc. Does that answer your question?

Ya sort of thanks. I like that dial screw it kinda of a cool idea.
I’ll go play around at ace and few other stores and see if I can come up with something similar.
Thanks.

@wcs, I just scored one of these oldies on ebay. If I don’t like it, you get the first crack at it, if you are still looking for one.
