I am new to this site, but after reading the feedback from the websites would be interested in finding out what the professional thoughts were on my website: http://www.ascleaningsolutions.com

My company started as just windows, but I am trying to dabble in other areas of expertise.

Thanks in advance!

I’m going to be more critical than most, so please don’t be offended - I just notice more working with web design.

Firstly - the site passes the Google “Mobile Friendly” test,… but it isn’t properly responsive, its just the Wix systems way of getting round it. This means that Google will display your site in searches made from mobile devices (Good), but many users will go straight back to the search results if the site doesn’t display properly on their device, so you get a high bounce rate (Bad). Switching to a properly responsive system, and moving away from Wix would instantly improve your google ranking.

2nd - the background pattern/image in the home page hurts my eyes a bit,… on the other pages its better, but the pattern is still a distraction from the main content. I’d be tempted t leave the page background a plain, light colour.

3rd - The photos are tiny,… too small to see much detail, and you can’t click on them to enlarge.

4 - I see lots of stock images,… but stock images don’t sell! Take some photos of you and your guys at work, take your time & get them right - include people in as many shots as you can - and if your truck is wrapped or signed, include it in the background of a couple of shots too as it will be recognisable locally.

5 - Your navigation is backwards. You need to put your SERVICES at the forefront, and the “about us” type pages on the sub menus,… make it as easy as possible for people to find what they want.

6 - Your homepage needs more text. Its a vital part of your SEO to have enough content on your main page.

7 - What are your service areas? Your site mentions “Central Florida” once, but that seems to be it. Geographic keywords help your website appear in the right searches & drastically reduce your competition for ranking, so its essential to mention the towns/areas you cover on almost every page.

8 - A phone number in the header near the logo is always a good idea

9 - Making all your phone numbers “click-to-call” on mobile devices can massively boost your conversion rate.

10 - You don’t seem to have any H1 or H2 tags for your SEO?

11 - You haven’t used any keywords in your page titles, adding them would be great for ranking

12 - You have the same meta description & keywords tags on every page. Google hates repetition & these tags should be unique & relevant to each page.

13 - Adding a blog page (Title it “Latest News” or similar) and updating it regularly can really boost Google rankings

14 - Adding customer testimonials or links to online reviews can improve conversion rates

15 - Adding a “Frequent Questions” page can be great for SEO (Most questions & answers are fairly keyword rich) AND is proven to increase customer conversion.

I’ll leave it at that for now,… there’s nothing that can’t be fixed on your site, but like I said to Garry, I wouldn’t put effort into a Wix site but instead recommend re-creating it from scratch in Wordpress where you’ll have to full set of tools & options you need to reach its full potential.

I have to agree somewhat with @Njones about Wix. Wix, GoDaddy Website Builder, and the like are real disasters. Sure, they are cheap/free, but so is a good quality CMS site driven by the Wordpress framework (again, NOT Wordpress.com, but your own domain).

The criticisms supplied in @Njones comment are valid, but you don’t need to jump in and change everything at once. I would focus on the SEO aspects first, as well as the click-to-call. SEO takes time - a loooong time. Even if you made every change recommended, you cannot gain rank on Google overnight. It often takes many months.

Take it slow, and you don’t have to spend a fortune to get it right.

I agree. I’m toying around with it for now as I discover what I may want, and not want, and also learning what I don’t know; now there is a lesson for ya’! lol

In my opinion it took going live in order to get feedback in a real circumstantial page.
I know many others would not have made that choice, and I opened myself up to criticism. Sweet, I have big shoulders and a controllable ego. But I also won’t be backed into a corner silently.

As I get the time and thought process to dig in to it as a very competitive page, I will.

I do offer my thanks to any and all helpful criticism.

Lets see for how long.

To add a second opinion.

I created my website using the Wix.com interface. I pay around $135US a year for it. It took me a total of 40 hours to create and design the website from scratch and become familiar enough with the Wix draw-and-drop software to implement it on my own. The ability for SEO using Wix is actually really good, contrary to what some others might say. You don’t need any coding experience at all - my site jumps between the top three overall rank on Google for “window cleaning Ottawa”.

If you have the time and a good eye for design (or someone you know might) then the Wix.com platform is not a bad consideration for a website. From my experience and research, Wordpress is much more versatile and robust of a platform for websites. It can be used be coders and non-coders alike - but the platform is more complicated to get used to and I figured would take much longer to navigate than Wix (which is why I chose Wix).

In the end you can’t go wrong with most of these choices. It will just depend on your budget and time!

Wix and Weebly are SEO poison.

If you’re not using Wordpress, you’re missing out.

I can’t speak to Weebly, but what is it about Wix that you feel makes it incapable of producing strong SEO results?

In a word, AJAX.

Google doesn’t crawl the entirety of AJAX websites. There was actually a point last year where Google mass de-indexed Wix and Weebly websites for a little over a month because the coding didn’t jive with Googlebot.

Also, there are a lot of very important on-page SEO factors in these drag and drop website builders that are out of your hands, such as full control over headings and page names.

Finally, when you have a Wix website, you cannot take it anywhere else. You are 100% stuck with them forever unless you want to completely start from scratch again.

Wordpress, on the other hand, is free, fully customizable and expandable, and portable. When you are working with the industry standard, anyone can jump in and help if necessary.

Here’s a great article with updates

he ranks second overall when i search him.

I am the #1 natural result (after ads) searching for “window cleaning Osprey florida” (where I do most of my work) and I use the Wix platform. And I daresay my site looks quite nice.

Perhaps there are limits to using the Wix service, but I don’t see it as holding me back from any competitive edge in my business.

I agree 100% there are limitations to using Wix (they are limitations against some third party integrations like Crazy Egg, and other tools for doing Landing Page Optimization). But I do think that a properly created Wix website which uses all of its easy-to-use SEO functionality, will prevent the majority of issues presented in the Is WIX SEO Friendly? Find out. 2017 Update. article you posted.

If you are not adding your meta-tags and page descriptions within the Wix platform, naturally it will not be properly indexed by Google. But I haven’t had any issues, and it seems @Samuel has seen success on SEO with his Wix site, so I don’t think it is by any means a platform worth not considering.

you came up first for me
