My first attempt at pole work

This is the only semi high window at my house. My kids were enjoying the nice weather. So I thought I’d get in some glass time. Don’t be too harsh. Lol

Looks like you’ve got a good basic movement repertoire. Those shallow aluminum frames are tough cause you don’t have much to guide your squeegee at the edge. Just keep practicing, you’re on the right track!

Thanks for the kind words @Samuel! Yeah these shallow frames will be the death of me! Lol

They’ll make you better though. Steady hand…clean edge.

Not bad. When pulling down keep the squeegee edge closest to the dry side lower than the squeegee edge on the wet side. That will help push the water towards the wet side.

When pulling sideways, keep the dry edge forward and the wet edge behind. That will help push the water down.

The angle didn’t need to be much, but it’ll help.

Good job man. I appreciate that you’re willing to show your moves. Where are you in the journey?

Anyway, I can see you problem solving as you go, which is awesome. It’s just reps, reps, reps and you’ll develop your own unique style.

Many customers headed your way! :sunglasses:

Keep trying you will get better . Use as little soap as possible and avoid the edges if not the fist time or real dirty. Bucketcleaning.MP4 - YouTube

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I’m in the process of starting my own business. Slowly but surely coming together.

Thanks!

Looks like you off to a good start.

The tapping is not necessary although many do it and once you start its hard to break the habit. Tapping on commercial jobs can easily become distracting for inside office workers as the tapping is heard louder on the inside like an echo.

Youll find wider panes will be easier to learn no too when available.

Good start

Good video bro, it will get easier the more you do it. Just be patient and keep building your skill with the pole the sooner you get out in the field the sooner the process will speed up.

Nice work!

It’s good you’re practicing right in front of you. The higher you go the harder it gets. JaredAI said it right.

Just seen many people do it. Next time no tapping the squeegee! Thanks

Thanks for the support!

I really do appreciate it!

On that particular glass you are probably right but in general, removing a bulk of water of the blade it is a very efficient way, especially when doing as you say large commercial panes and a great many of them.
Tenants complain, who cares… they don’t pay the bills, by the time they have realized whats going on its already done.
Time is money.

Whats your alternative bringing the pole down every stroke to wipe the blade?

I tap as well. I kinda like it when people stop and look to see what the tapping is. Like advertising.

The only time it was detrimental to me was last week. Customers door locked while I was working the outside. Kept knocking on the door and he would look at me but wouldnt open the door. I had to call him from my cell phone to open up. He said he thought I was just tapping my squeegee
