Just a theory: My fliq pads after a few months of use stops scrubbing in the middle while on a pole. Maybe this extra cushion will help to stop the middle from not contacting the glass.

I just googled fliq pad and found one of many videos. None of them had the new pad; even the sites selling these don’t show the pad; they are using old illustrations. I apologize that I went on assumption and just saw where the handle was higher than the rubber. Sometimes designers add stuff as a selling point without really testing well before something goes into the field. Thanks for your input Trad Man.
