Hey guys, thought I’d update you…things took an unexpected turn. A friend of mine who knew what features i need in a hose made an interesting discovery and i decided for $25 it was worth trying out:
Haven’t tried it out yet, but initial impressions are good. Very light, very “cooperative”, and i don’t see it ever kinking. Metal also means it’s nice and slippery, so easy to coil in my bucket. It’s 1/2" so we’ll see how it does with flow.
I’m really excited cause this is one of the last steps for my truck organization ideas to be complete (which i will show off later )
It’s supposed to be pretty strong, but i agree, it proly would. Thankfully, I’m only using it for screen cleaning so there shouldn’t be any crush opportunities. If by chance it does, at least it was only $25.
Used my new hose today. It was a dream. Didn’t even have issues with flow despite the smaller diameter. It was so easy to uncoil and recoil, and it takes so little space. I am planning to exchange it for the 50’ but that should still fit in my bucket easily.
Nothing in any real way. I was a Carnie for a few seasons and was always looking for that guy. As long as you keep it a standard company wide. That IS how hoses get kinks and unruly in general. It’ll be trained to roll clockwise, and that guy would come along and spend extra time to roll it the other way and it’ll pack ok, but the next guy has a mess on his hands.
Someone linked to this video once from here but icouldn’t find the thread. This is a video for cables, but extension cords, air hose, all work the same way. How to Wrap a Cable the Right Way "Over Under" - YouTube
Idk if it will even help, but it helped me. Takes a second or two to break the wrap around the elbow method but it’s worth a glance.
