Minivan to Cargo

Are there any people taking advantage of the stow n go feature of the dodge caravan and using them as passenger/cargo vans? Also is there a ladder rack anyone would suggest?

I like the dodge caravan. Fifteen years. I stow my 24 ft sectional ladder inside under lock and key 24/7 :sunglasses:

Do you have an older model?

Vantech for the ladder rack. I like the track-based aluminum model. No need to remove the headliner to bolt it on, and the crossbars are removable. Super sturdy.

I think a minivan would make the perfect vehicle for our line of work. Very few of us really need the space of a full size cargo van.

Looks like a really good price on that caravan, too.

I’ve thought about a minivan as a full time vehicle. Lots of storage space and better mpg than a full size cargo van. And the ability to lock everything up inside instead of pulling everything out overnight.

I use a 2001 Sienna, put a Yakima rack on and works decently enough. I’ve somewhat outgrown it though as I also do screen repair and need to tow my PW trailer on occasion, 1500#.

At some point I’d like to have a newer Sienna with the 3.3 and 5 speed tranny. I’m not quite at the point of needing a full size van, but close.

Beware of Chrysler products though, not the most reliable vehicles.

What size ladders do you carry on the rack?

28’, 24’, 16’ and 7’ step.

Any pics?
