Men in kilts new owners

Men in kilts new owners just got a deal on Dragon’s den, $400,000 cad for 20% of the master franchise from Jim treliving owner of Boston pizza

Good for them… I just don’t understand how guys can strap on? a kilt in the morning and head out to climb ladders all day. I seen a crew of them last month across the street cleaning up a house for market… felt sorry for the workers having to wear that getup… having said that, the company will obviously be around for awhile with the new cash, good marketing and good workmanship should keep em in kilts for awhile.

@cactus27 ok ok… figured it out. You were speaking in Canadian and I had to translate it…lol. It’s a knock off of Shark Tank.

I have seen Chris post on window cleaning forums for years. He seems like a great guy. The whole Kilt gimmick has always been a headscratcher to me but it really is marketing gold. They do an amazing job branding… something that other franchises in our industry have fallen behind on.

If you are having a hard time understanding Canadian just say “Eh, Moosehead, eh?!!”

Even if you are still confused they might give you a Moosehead so it’s worth a try

Other way around. Dragons Den premiered in Canada in 2006. Shark Tank began in 2009. Kevin O’Leary and Rob Herjivec were originally on Dragons Den.
There’s my hoser moment. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’m in the US, but Dragon’s Den is where I really grew to like Kevin and Robert. I like Shark Tank a lot as well. Can’t seem to get the new season of Dragon’s Den down here.

Also, I think Jim Treliving is hilarious.

There was an episode where a lady had some sort of cereal, and Jim was just eating it the entire time. He was like “Holy Smokes, this is the best thing I’ve ever eaten…I’ll give you whatever you want.”

Just like, BAM! It was so funny.

We like found this mouse in the beer bottle, and uh, I think we deserve a free case of beer

likely sold out too early

Talked to a guy who worked there last year. He said the local franchise is awful and they never had any work. He spent 90% of his time trying to sell instead cleaning windows. He also worked at Fish after and it was a million times better.

I love learning a new language…

I don’t know much about there process or operation… but you have to admit their marketing and branding are phenomenal

The important takeaway that i got from the article is they are supported by a Call Centre.

Something to think about…

Gimmicks will only get you so far if you are doing bad work. I would be suprised if they were doing much repeat business in our area from the reviews I’ve heard.
