Mayweather vs. mcgregor

No … it wasn’t worth it since he signed on the dotted line.
No one could cross over An expect to beat the greatest boxer of all time. Even though he is the cockyist f… ever.

As far as the reference if him throwing the fight. Like I said he would of had to take a beatin. What … he is just going to take one punch An fall down. His ego would never let that happen , plus the whole world would be screaming fix. Just not viable

Not to mention he has a legacy to uphold. Can you imagine. But Beaton by a guy who never had a boxing match in his life

I was totally entertained. I’ve never seen a Mayweather fight and I’ve only been watching MMA for a couple years now. I’ve definitely wasted more money on more frivolous stuff in the past. It was worth the $100 to me.

It was entertaining. I bought it too, and it was worth it.

If anything was fixed, it was that Mayweather was always in the pocket and just took McGregor’s shots (he never does this). Entertaining because Mayweather was backing up his opponent; he was the aggressor and didn’t respect Conor’s shots. McGregor’s boxing has come a long way, but, C’mon son…

Seriously, how much did Mayweather and McGregor each get for that song and dance?

It is reported that Mayweather would get $100 million while McGregor would get a minimum of $30 million. But with the promotions and Pay-Per-View added in Mayweather stands to make over $200 million and McGregor over $100 million. Not bad for a 40 year old man stepping out of retirement then back in again, and for a 29 year old man who still has many fights to collect on.

Wonder if those payouts are Net 30? ;-0 LOL

Ya that’s not to shabby for either one.

I would give net 30 terms on that deal! But not a freaking day more. :sunglasses:

I herd 200 mayweather 100 Mcgregor too. Ya have to tip your hat to these guys there Marketing geniuses. I would if never paid a 100 dollars for this fight. It’s an embarrassment if you ask me. This is why boxing is a sport of the past. Mayweahsr would if never taking the fight at his age if he new this guy would of had any chance.

I agree!

People forget what boxing was really like. Through 70s 80s An some of the 90s. Ya had the greatest fights of all time. Hagler/Lenard. Duran/Lenard. Barkley/Duran. Gotta/Ward. Ali/Holmes. Norton/Ali. Pryer/Arguello. Chavez/Taylor. The list can go on An on.
It’s unbelievable we’re we are as a nation that people believe everything they hear An see on TV. Not going to get political, but back in the days you would have to rise up through the ranks to fight a guy like Mayweather. What boxer did this guy beat to be able to get this fight. Bunch of bull shit. Boxing should be ashamed of themselves. But desperate times leads to desperate measures.

Don’t forget Tyson/Ip Man! (seeing Tyson coming at you full bull would be intimidating especially since you know he’ll bite your face off)

If you’re going to have cross sport fights let them fight their style and see what happens.

I agree, my son I had a long conversation about that.

I agree you have to fight your way up and I hate mcgregor.

But at the same time, McGregor was a boxer at 14 and worked his way up the ufc. This was for entertaining purposes and for mayweather to show all those UFC ego fu**s to realize it takes a lot more than a UFC champ to go the distance in boxing. You can’t just jump in there thinking your king crap.

I’m glad this fight happened and I hope it gains boxing the respect it deserves, once again.

That would just be a UFC fight. Boxing is boxing and McGregor said he can own him

No it would just be a fight.

It would be more fair…

it’s like one opponent (McGregor) had only 50% or less of his skill set available to him to perform his craft.

I’m not saying he would have won, but heck let the guy use all his training and skills.

Very true and he would win in a fight like that but HE wanted to box. Says he had enough skill to “whip mayweather around” in a boxing match.

If they did have a normal fight, it would be unfair for mayweather. But hes smart enough to know that, unless he wants more money lol

I think that Conner recognizes that the shelf life is short for UFC fighters. Check out pictures of UFC guys after their fights. Look like bloody pulps whether they win or lose. They can only do that for a handful of years. They make less money per fight than a top level boxer and can only fight for a few years at elite level. Here is mayweather tho fighting at 40 and commanding serious coin. The earning potential would be tremendous if they could cross over.

Mayweather is a genius at marketing. We can all learn something for him. The total amount he is scheduled to make from that fight is $300 - $350 million. Smart man!

I enjoyed the fight. Actually won some money on Bovada bet 10-12th round KO or TKO by either fighter :+1::fist_right:
Was hoping it went the distance as it was a pretty close fight up to the 9th round. Had money on a Draw decision was paying around +3300
