Luke Starter Kit?

I am just starting up and saw the Luke the window cleaner starter kit. It seems to be a really good way to get started but I’m not as experienced to really know.

Does anyone have any input for this starter kit? I plan on doing mostly residential but I’m not opposed to do doing commercial. My main target is residential.

If I did get this starter kit, is there anything missing that is a must have to also buy? I want to really practice and learn as much as I possibly can before I start trying to market.

Thanks for any input!

Do you already have an epic beard?

Here’s mine:

Thanks I have used the search button mutiple times also tried google. Unless I’m completely retarded, or not using it correctly or both, I was only able to find one thread that talked specifically about this starter kit. However, I don’t feel like it answered my questions fully so I decided to start my owned.

We put together those kits in such away that you would really have almost everything that you would need. The only thing you would need is a belt and pouch, i purchase ours at lowes . Awp is the brand, they have several options .

I didn’t buy the Luke kit, but my current equipment set is almost exactly the same. It’s very comprehensive, facilitating the most work with the least amount of gear. Skip the brand name starter kits.

Whether you choose a preassembled kit or put one together of your own doing, the basic tools you will need:
BOAB w/belt (bucket on a belt)
6"/12"/14"/18"/21" squeegee
10"/14"/16" scrubber and T-Handles
Extension poles
Razor scraper (Use judiciously)
0000 steel wool, or better, brass wool
Magic Eraser
3 gal or 6 gal window cleaners bucket
*Yes, you can use a 5 gal round bucket, but a rectangular window cleaners bucket fits your scrubbers better
Soap (Dawn is fine, specific window cleaning soaps work great too, so join the fight!)
Step stool (3 step at least)
Ladders
White 3M scrub pads (The green pads will scratch glass)
Screen tool (Paint can opener works well too)
Huck towels or surgical towels for detailing
Large bath towels to protect whatever is under you working indoors

That will pretty much take care of 99% of you run across. Your pre made kit or one you assemble may have even more. Have fun and earn a living!

Thanks for the great info everyone. I think I will be going with the Luke kit. Also will consider the extra stuff Garry has mentioned.

Luke’s kit looks pretty solid. Check out this thread it has a ton of different setups and ideas.

It’s easy. Just stop shaving.

@JaredAI He can’t let his secrets out. His beard and his hair secrets are under lock and key.

Good thing there’s a Luke starter kit. A Daniel starter kit would proly run like $5000.

Yeah, I’m pretty sure we’ve got some native american blood somewhere in our line because I can only grow a mustache and goat. When I tried to grow a beard, I looked like one of those semi-hairless rat dogs. The natives of northern NM can’t grow facial hair for nothing.

One Navajo I was working with had one long hair on his chin and I asked him how come he didn’t pluck it. He said it was because the ladies would start playing with that hair and then would be all over him. Mind you, he was a heavy drinker so he was probably drunk that day. Another guy I worked with looked like a catfish with his mustache…

Oh, and the Luke kit is good enough to get you started.

Yeah the American native facial and body hair seems to run pretty sparse. Partly culture but mostly genetic, from what I gather.

My own genetic stock includes a good bit of the Eastern Mediterranean lines. Greeks, Turks, Romanians and Kazakhs. I can make dreadlocks in my leg hair.

That’s a thorough kit, for sure. I think you’ll probably end up wanting more than one washer sleeve.

For sure ! But hey one would work for now :sunglasses:

Get one of those tuff belts, they are the last belt you’ll ever buy.

I’ve used ettore, unger, and generic belts and tuff is hands down the best.
