Logo rough draft

Yep, the Sandia Mountains are named because the color on the mountain at dusk makes the mountain look like a slice of watermelon. :watermelon:

Good info. Thanks!

Okay, so here it is digitized. I like it, but I think I’ll either ditch the squeegee or at least stand it up vertical so it looks more like a T and less like VISA. I do like the elliptical, though.

Sorry, this didn’t get ignored. I’ve thought about that. The way I see it is my primary service I will offer is window cleaning. Most other services will be up sells like screen repair and such, which will be easy enough to advertise and communicate to the buyer.

If or when I decide to take the company in a different direction, such as power washing, then I can set up a DBA and have a separate division to focus on that service.

Turned out really nice, clean, and professional. I agree with the squeegee angle being vertical. Maybe it doesn’t even have to be a squeegee; I’d try both ways and compare. Looking great so far though!

I like keeping the squeegee and filling the white space on the squeegee with blue.

I’ll check it both ways. I like the squeegee, but it will probably look better vertical. I’ll have to work on making it look more like a real squeegee too. The fiverr guy didn’t spend much time on that part for sure. I’ll work on tightening the letters up in Vista so they match the letters in Sandia too.

Latest. I experimented with adding the mountains, but its too much.

Ooops, I like the elliptical better with a slant.

Hey, you’ve really got something here. You’re on your way

I like how the blue in the squeegee matches the lettering. It makes it more apparent that it’s part of the word.

Maybe experiment with making the squeegee blade wider and having the elliptical match, and narrow out more on the other end? Idk, might look like crap. But it’s something to play around with.

Thanks. Yeah, changing the elliptical screwed it up a little. I’ll iron that out.

I like the blue and yellow. hehe

I would ditch the squeegee. It does not add impact or identity to the logo. It really does make the image look like an amateur designed it, and it’s a predictable, over-used image (along with panes of glass) for WC company logos.

The colors are very well chosen. The font change away from a script font for “Window Cleaning” helps too.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m still struggling with the squeegee too. I’ll draw it up tonight without and see.

I disagree about the squeegee on the logo, WE see it everyday therefore it must be mundane and overused. I think customers don’t/won’t mind it. You could put a picture of a rake in it and they probably wouldn’t notice. As Long as the flow works which it does now that you’ve changed the angle on the squeegee. I like it.

When we create something, we all tend to fall in love with it too much to listen to dissenting points of view. If your own gut is also telling you it’s not right, you should listen.

You have some good things going with what you’ve started. Every single element of your logo should accomplish something that screams “Here is a pro!” Using an image that is trite, predictable and overused doesn’t do this.

Maybe you should post a poll:
With squeegee
Without squeegee

I vote for with. The squeegee is a nice graphic element that offsets all the text.

i like the very first sketch. i would just use that,it holds the attention, the pencil lines

im not so sure about the “screaming heres a pro” ,thats a bit old hat in my opinion - i personally like the AMATEUR angle , its in everything i do- and it works for me. for my own logo my nephew drew it up without me asking ,now i use it often to good results

Wow, interesting perspective.

Funny, I’ve always been a “this is how it SHOULD be done” kind of person. To me, there was the best way, and then all the other ways. But I’ve been discovering more and more over the years that i really need to have a more open mind because there are so many viewpoints out there and many of them work surprisingly well, if not better, than what i had in mind.

I think it’s really cool how taking a completely non-standard approach has worked out so well for you.
