LLC or Corp

Which is a better way to go when starting your business: LLC or corporation, or another avenue? Gonna be in Florida. Any tips would be appreciated.

The simplistic way: LLC if just one owner. S Corporation if more than one owner (shareholders).
As with all legal issues it is best to go straight to the source. Discuss your options with your tax adviser.

LLC vs. S Corp.

I was wondering the same thing and I’m in Florida as well. @ElStorcho whereabouts in Florida?

Yeah I want to hit the ground running when I get down there. It’s looking like Ormond Beach area is where I’ll end up.

Nice, I’m in Panama City. To be honest I’ve never noticed a lot of window cleaners in my area maybe one he was an old man that still used boar bristle brushes I’m not real sure if there’s even a market in my area for it but I’m going to give it a shot anyway

Best bet is to talk with a tax attorney, depending on your goals LLC maybe the best bet as you can be taxed as an s-corp, c-corp or partnership depending on which will reduce your taxes most.

If you are creating an LLC in florida make sure you have more then one “member” (aka owner of the llc) or else florida law will treat you as a sole proprietor if someone sues you personally. Dont get fooled just because you created an llc that your protected… talk with an attorney… you must file all required forms and tax documents on time each year or else you wont be protected anyway. Its a lot to keep on top of just get professional help so you dont worry about it.

There is one thing for sure, you do not want to be a Sole proprietor or in a partnership! Both of these entities do not provide any legal protection of your assets (both company & personal) so if some sues you or your company they can be awarded all your posessions even if it was your employees fault!

Good thing about janitorial services: there’s always a market. Bad thing about janitorial services: likely the first thing to get cut when downsizing.
