Working full time and losing big jobs! I just lost a money maker because I don’t have days open to get this job done by next Thursday! I should call in sick but that’s rude. Lol. My time will come

even when you’re no longer working your day job you’ll get to a point where your schedule is full and you’ll still lose jobs because you can’t get to them that day or that week

Good point

I also worked a full time job, has 60 hours per week at my local hardware store. As I got busier I had to work less… I would never call in sick. But if I got offered a job of $800 in 4 hours. I called my boss and said hey, I got someone to cover my shift so I can make my two weeks pay in 4 hours…

You’re business must come first, but try not to screw someone over, but I’ll call in sick in a heart beat if I couldn’t find coverage.
“Jobs have already held me back so much in my life!!

We don’t have people to cover if some one is sick. It screws up the whole day. Jobs end up getting cancelled or shop work gets ignored which is no fun to catch up on. I also have a guilty conscience and I have a verbal agreement with my boss not to let this get in the way. So, I respect it and keep things on the weekends/evenings.

If I remember correctly, your a glacier by trade and install shower enclosures…

Yes sir

I was just about to finish up a HUGE house with all storm windows… about 75 total. We were packing it in and just as my technician slammed the door to the truck almost all of the 75 storms came CRASHING… BAM… BAM… CRASH… SHATTER… BOOM…out of the customers windows. It turns out that he was installing the storms in backwards and so the clips were only holding by a hair. Apparently the door slamming was just enough to start the carnage. WHAT A FREAKING MESS!!! My head started spinning and I got so mad I literally threw him right through their beautiful picture window overlooking the river. The impact of the shattering glass severed the back of his forearm and we had to tie it off in a tourniquet until he could be flown by helicopter to the nearest ER. Once the cloud of chaos settled the customer outrages in disgust and disbelief raged towards wielding this razor sharp authentic samurai sword he removed from a wall display. I was frightened… so much so that I actually defected in my pants. At this point I realized that I was left with literally no other choice than to battle him to the death with my 6" Ettore window razor. I removed the yellow plastic shield and let out war cry that could be heard across the river… aaaaaayyyyyyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!! … …And then I woke up in my truck and realized I had dozed off during lunch break. Oh well, I think I would have won anyway, my Ettore razor is pretty B/A!

When I say nightmares I mean, ever been mid job and snapped a wfp, or broken a window etc? Those kind of nightmares! Lol I made this post because my nightmare story was the story of “consistent carol” a woman I decided was an absolute nightmare to deal with for more than a dozen reasons and ended up telling her we couldn’t service her home anymore. Yet she has called me every single day for the last three months (seriously) and literally left her phone number in the voicemail and that’s it. She won’t go away! She threw a wrench at one of my guys because he told her that he couldn’t give her a discount on my already low price!! I’m serious man! Nightmare

This guy came up to me last week, he had his own squeegee on a broomstick but nothing else.

Wanted to “help”, I sent him over to my crew a short distance from me and although he had zero clue what he was doing, it was comical for a little bit.

Later on employee for my customer asked if I hired a new guy, ha.
