Least expensive liability insurance

Anybody know what the least expensive liability insurance for a single-man operation is? I have one customer that is now requiring it - no one ever has before - I do very low risk jobs - single level - no ladders ever.

Honestly you needed it from day 1.

I pay $170/mo for WC and power washing coverage, general liability 1-2 mil coverage. Doesn’t cover ‘workmanship’ damage.

Just because no one has asked you if you have it they probably just assume that being a profesisonal you would already have it, low risk to who? yourself?

If a member of the public or a customer slips on water, a hose, your bucket, your pole etc what would you do?

You’re right. Thanks for the feedback. I just make so little it’s sometimes hard to justify it but probably a wise investment.

No way I could afford $170 a month. I have to believe there is less expensive liability insurance.

Probably around $600/yr, depends what part of the country you live in though.

That’s for both PW and WC. Just windows was running me about $55/mo.

You have to understand, power washing houses can be very risky, way more than window cleaning. You’re literally hosing down a house with water, what if they get a leak and it runs down inside the house? How about a short on an outside outlet and sets fire to the place? Ask the guys, they can tell you horror stories.

Edit: I’m getting my PW and WC forums mixed up. Regardless my WC insurance was about $55/mo.

Why so little? Are you just starting out and haven’t established a profitable business yet?

A cell phone costs $100 bucks a month…

A car payment is more than $100 a month…

RENT is more than $100 a month…

Yet that anyone would think that liability insurance isn’t a justifiable expense, how are they in business?! Seriously, anyone thinking that liability is open for discussion, shouldn’t BE in business.

I break phones so fast, I get maybe 2 months out of a phone before it completely stops working. I just buy the $50 phones from the supermarket, the phone plan is only $19 a month lol

ALRIGHT! GOT IT! NOW EVERYONE GET OFF MY ASS!!! :grimacing: AHHHH!:tired_face:

I don’t buy “expensive” phones anymore either. Waste of money, IMO. But I DO buy Motorola’s.
A good case is key to keeping ANY phone safe.

My phone plan costs me $75 a month per phone. Not bad considering the service I get is much better than budget plans, and my data is 4G LTE all the time. I can’t deal with 3G anymore. Nobody got time for that!

I really don’t use very much data on my phone, to busy working I don’t even have my email account linked to my phone I don’t need anymore distractions while working, all that can wait until after work imo.

I get unlimited national calls and texts +1gig of data which I never use anyway(also 4G)

My son is on a same plan for $19 but he gets 8gig data under contract for 12 months while my plan has no contract.

When i first stated my GL was around $500 a year for $1M in coverage, but it was VERY limited. I had to take all mentions of power washing and gutter cleaning off my website at their request lol.

I find a higher end phone a necessity as I do so much of my logging and booking on it. Not to mention listening to books and podcasts. But there are great phones for way under a grand.

I have 2 million coverage mine is only 40$ a month

Insurance…you get what you pay for. It’s all bout how much risk and exposure you want to have and the cheaper it is likely the more exclusions are buried deep in the fine print.

I called Geico and they found a policy thur one their providers that cover me for 1 million dollar general liability insurance for $300. Per year
