Janitorial Supply Stores

So, I have always bought my window cleaning tools online. I decided today to go to my local Janitorial Supply Store. I didn’t like it whatsoever. I am not sure if every store is like this but mine was very unorganized and things were WAY overpriced. I paid $90 for 4 items. (Scrubber, Squeegee, and 2 extra 14" rubbers.) I was blown away. Not to mention it was ONLY ErgoTech items… that was all. Who pays $30 for a handle… I guess me  lol. So basically what I’m trying to say is order off of WCR or another online store.

Yup my local chemical and paper supply is the same way. But it’s either them or Home Depot for window cleaning tools if you can’t wait for shipping.

The problem with the local suppliers is they just don’t do the sales volume to make the window cleaning supplies affordable. They cater more to institutions that clean in-house or janitorial companies that don’t do too many windows. Not professional window cleaners.

I have a local one here that stocks only basic equipment, and I just buy emergency stuff (rubber, razors etc.) from them, but the guy has been very helpful and has hooked me up with thousands of dollars of work, so I support them. They are expensive, as they’re 3rd party, but it makes sense. They have to turn a profit.

Same experience here. They’re sales people seem to be well connected…

I have a janitorial store literally 4 blocks from me. All they carried were brass Unger squeegees, Unger t bar with a sleeve that looks like shag carpet lol and Unger soft rubbers… Oh yeah 4" ergotec scraper. I bought a scraper and 4 rubbers think I paid 25 bucks.

Wow, thats not too bad :stuck_out_tongue:

There’s a few janitorial supply stores in the area that carry unger and ettore supplies. In a jam it’s good to know that I can get a brass 22" channel or real rubbers that aren’t the HD quality. But for window cleaning specific stores, we choose between three. None of which are in Florida.

Think the scraper was with tax 17 bucks and some changed and i think they charged me 2 a piece for the rubbers

Wow, was it just an Unger ErgoTech scraper?

Yeah this one.

That’s what I use when needed. Good heavy duty scraper for stickers that’s been baked on the glass for a while. Only problem is, if using on a pole, it’s hard to get off the tip if the pole.

Triumph handles wear out after a while having critically placed cracks in the handle making pole removal a breeze.

Exactly the same here. I bought two things for 38 dollars. I got to my car and thought, nah… I don’t need these that badly. So I turned around and returned them… only to have a restocking fee !!! I said… I could literally walk over and put it back… didn’t work. It’s their policy to rip people off

Basically.

Use the push pin on Ettore poles or the release on the Unger poles and you don’t have to worry about sticking.

If you’re using the wooden tip you’re screwed.

Even the new triumph don’t sit flat. Switch to the ninja and you’ll be very happy.

Ok thanks. Was wondering about those scrapers. I see quite a few people use them. I’m now going to order one. I see a lot of people have good things to say about them.
