We are a company out of Sarasota Fl. Been doing traditional window cleaning on high end 10,000 sq ft plus homes for 10+ years. We though a water fed pole system would be great. It our customers were not into it. That is why we are selling. Feel free to contact me with any questions about equipment.

Man, you should rename/start new thread…

And watch how many people would give you advice how to sell/prove to your cust that your investment was worthwhile.

Im not being smartass, not in the slightest!
Shame to see you do right, and get this wonderful equipment… only to sell it right away.

There are usually two responses I get, when I mention that my truck
"takes their water, and runs it through Reverse Osmosis, and then De-Ionizes it"

  1. They think I’m joking “ha, yeah right, funny”
  2. “Really?!?”

The first, I keep pushing it… Anions, Cations…until their eyes gloss over.
(fuck you, this is why I charge what I do… now let me get back to work! :pensive:

The second, I get inthusiastic and say “yes! its really something, how much technology has improved my service.”

Honesty it’s a very nice piece of equipment like I said it’s brand new. i personally from what I have seen other people do and what I have done myself don’t agree that it’s better then hand washed. I believe it’s faster and safer but with all the factors involved where I work, salt spray from water, oxidized frames, salty window gaskets…that leaves a lot of variables to leave a messy window and not give 100% perfection to your customers. I hear these people saying stuff like your b+ work is a customer a+ work…we look at window they look through it…I couldn’t disagree more with that statement. I do 100% all the time
For everyone and so like I mentioned before it’s just not working out for my needs. I’m sure it will be a great machine for someone else. I have done sales my whole life, if I wanted to sell them on it I could. I want to give them a great finished product and with all the salt spray constantly off the gulf as well as oxidizing frames that keep reoccurring not a good fit. If anyone would like a brand new setup please call me 978 809 1782…I’m willing to work on price. It’s just sitting in garage.

I even had a friend come with his
Machine and show me how he does it and it left lil white droplets everywhere from all the oxidized frames and dirty salt water coming from window gaskets. And he has done it for a long time. The customer told me it was the worst they had ever seen. I’m sure that there is applications where it is amazing, but with the small area that I work being extremely big homes, they want it perfect and with all the factors it seems difficult. I asked the owner of window cleaning resource and he agreed that if your dealing with constant salt spray and oxidized frames may not be right application.

How often are you doing these “reliable customers?”

All 5,000-20,000 sq ft homes. 300+ customers and some we do 2 per year others 1 per month. They come in in September and leave in April/May

Would you consider just selling the cart alone?

Yes I am getting rid of everything. Obviously nice to sell everything as a package but could break up.

Txt or call my cell for info.

The reason your customers are turning it down is because you don’t believe in it. Before you can sell your customers you must be absolutely convinced its 1000x better so that you are actually excited about it (not hesitant) when they ask about it. The fact that you stated you think hand washing is better is the reason your customers are demanding hand washing

I have been in sales with a few of my company’s and I can tell you that if I believed in the product I would sell them on it. Like I have stated in past posts it doesn’t do a better job when you have gulf winds spraying salt into gaskets, causing leak out after you have washed as well as oxidized frames that unless you keep up with monthly will always be there. I’m sure it has its place but in my area there is a reason why no one else uses. I had a friend come down and use his machine who had been doing it for a long time and the job was terrible when I went back the next day to check.

Water had leaked down from gaskets. There was white water droplets that had dried and I watched him scrub for hours on the frames.

Coming from someone who obviously believes it’s superior what is your cure for that? How do I tell a owner of a 20,000 sq foot house that has a dinner party that night that I’m not sure if water will leak from gasket or that salt will spray into water on the glass that has not dried yet and cause a white spot when dry. How do you factor in that variable?

By all means tell me. I have talked to multiple owners of shops who sell water fed poles and they all tell me that if you are dealing with serious oxidized frames may not be the right application.

I also clean windows near the coast (west palm), fl. I know a multiple window cleaners including myself that successfully use a wfp.

Somethings to check:

  1. Tds (im sure you have done this ) It should be zero, i know others say sometimes you get away with .050 tds but 0 tds water always works!
  2. Make sure you have enough water flow from your brush with out splatter …this is very important to prevent splashing of oxides.
  3. Are you using the correct type of jet (fan vs pencil) for the windows your cleaning. If the water isnt cascading down the window try fan jets for a more even rinse. (Maybe add a few more jets to increase water flushing)
  4. Technique watch youtube videosbut basically scrub frames and seals of the top pane once or twice, then scrub bottom frame between panes. NEXT wash top.pane with an up and down motion as you slowly move the brush left to right making sure to brush every inch of glass . Do this 3 times where each time is brushing the entire pane left to right . Finally, rinse from left to right slowly, follow the water down the window as it sheets (**** critical not to let the rinse water touch the top or side window frames or seals. This will prevent any loose oxidation from getting on thr clean glass***)

This is what works for me; I also use a bronze scrubber on a Y neck for stubborn bugs or grime.
Youtube has tons of techbique videos that give tips on spotting… one guy suggusts waiting until the frames are dry before washing the pane 3 times to ensure nothing will drip later. He just does all frames first then comes back and does panes later.
