I'm horrible on the phone

Let’s stay on the line so we can hear each other breathing.

I say I love you to telemarketers when they call.

True story.

I was recieving 1-3 calls a day from an Indian telemarketer. It was the old “Government Grant Scam” and they were very persistent. Of course when they called they never left messages, and they had a system that would allow them to call out but when you tried to call back it would act disconnected.
However one day as I was driving in my car I saw them calling and answered, they went through the whole scheme and gave me a number to call.
I was in! I spoke with a guy named George and he was all cool and stuff and wanted me to buy hundreds of dollars with an itunes card…I hung up on him and for the next two days I think I placed around 40 calls to his call center.
Every time they answered I would ask to speak with George and they had to comply. I kept asking why they keep bothering me.

Eventually I was taken off the list.

We’ve been getting hit with every scam call in the book. Finally we had to invest in a call blocker for our landline. You just push a button and it saves the number and blocks it from then on. For my cell i use TrueCaller, which is fantastic.

Same here, the calls were relentless I was to the point that I thought about changing my number. But it was way easier setting up call blocker…

I guess I’m lucky. The only scam calls I get are from Home Advisor.

I like this one!

Everyone should download the “should I answer” app. Love that app.

Are these really scams? I thought home advisor is legit.

They are what I would call white collar scammers.
You are probably aware of the premise, where you pay them money for pre-qualified leads and a chance to bid against other companies offering a similar service.
You may not be aware that they have been caught spamming local Internet search results with phony companies that all lead back to home advisor, basically intercepting your potential customers so they can sell them to you as leads.
They have been known to engage in other shady/dishonest practices as well, such as continuing to bill and harass after canceling their services, and billing for junk leads that turn out to be disconnected numbers or vacant homes.

I got a text from the IRS saying they were going to contact the sheriff to arrest me.

My response was “cool.”

Wow didn’t know that

Haha. When they come are they gonna get me for state taxes too?

Not sure if you’re aware, but this where the “#” key is a life saver for a lot of voicemails I leave. Its the button that typically gives you a chance to review the call, erase and re-record. Doesn’t work on all phone systems, but if it does, its great!

Whaaaaat I never knew that

if you use a click dialer or power dialer you can record your message(s) in advance. when you get the answering machine you push a button, it leaves the message while it dials the next number.

alternatively a voice cast allows you to record a message which is sent DIRECTLY to their voicemail. incredibly cheap.
