Hybrid Super Soaps

A hybrid super soap is a blend of various carbon based surfactants along with what are called super wetting surfactants that are based on either a silicon or fluorine chemistry. I have come up with such a hybrid based on two carbon anionics and a silicon anionic along with a very strong alkalie. So it cuts grease, and leaves a real nice shine. I call it my High Shine Silicone Soap. I will be discussing the chemistry, technology, and formula in a later Glass Smart Insider which I am now writing monthly. Using it every day now. The shine is really nice.

Just so it’s safe for plants, pets, humans and various paint/window frame surfaces.

Are there any samples available, please?

DC, I would have to check the MSDS on each of the ingredients. But you know that would take some research into how to understand and MSDS. When we ask about the “safety” of human or animal exposure exactly what are we talking about? As for paint and window frames that is much easier to answer. I don’t see any problem with that.

And Morrison, Yes I can work on some samples. But you should know my goal is NOT to develop a commercial product. My real focus is on the technology. So I am working on many different things all at the same time. The formulas for all of these are being made known through an online newsletter that I have started writing once a month. I realize that I am going to have to provide samples for window cleaners. I tried doing this a couple years ago and had much trouble with it. The packages were being ripped into, no shows, leaking, etc. It was very bad for everyone. Then sometimes the cost of sending is prohibitive. Especially to other countries. None of this I expected. It got to the point where I came to the realization that distributors really do earn their money. Chris and Alex and JRC really do earn their money. Also manufacturers do not have it easy either. Everyone has their own expertise.

Can I buy some? I really liked the wetting sample you sent me last time. I will pay for shipping too.

Hi old friend,

You know Malcolm. My first question is how did your family come through the earthquake recently?

Second. I am talking with my silicon chemist friends now to see if they can get me a gallon for a hundred bux then I will make up some samples and sell them to people who are really interested. But I don’t want to create any products. Much too scatter brained and lazy for that. I just want to tinker, write, and show stuff off. Course I have to make some money at the same time too!

My house shook for almost a minute during the earthquake but didn’t sustain any damage. My friends and relatives in Anchorage weren’t/aren’t so lucky. They are still having aftershocks and had a 4.9 this morning.

It sure would be nice if some manufacturers and distributors would sponsor your tinkering so these products could get to the market sooner.

Hi Malcolm,

Yes it would be nice if they would. I am talking to different chemists but it would take a manufacturer to get on board with this stuff. I guess we need to start using it and put it out there as a group but they like to have secrets to explore. So the more I openly talk about this stuff the less likely they are to do anything with it.

Glad to learn that your house was not damaged. I have a good friend that came from Alaska. He told me that Homer was right next door to Anchorage. Which brought you to mind. These earthquakes and volcanoes are really happening all over the world for a reason. I won’t get into a religious discussion here but it is something I would enjoy over the email. Nonetheless I look forward to the end of these disasters. We actually did have an earthquake here in NH about a few years ago. It only lasted about ten seconds. But was very scary.
