How many windows per hour?

very limited landscapes in your way, nice 65 degree fall day w/ no wind and you had plenty of sleep the night before.
so how many basic hand scrubed squeggeed off single windows can you do in an hour?..timed myself in a safe pace and i did 26.

12-windows in/out plus screens,sills,tracks per hour.

Probably none. On a day like that I’d be at the cliffs climbing.

I’ll have to time myself
I did time myself on a 50 pane french window last week on the ladder. Took me an hour in/out.
Although I was screwing around a little

HA HA I’d be at the cliffs surfin!

Yesterday I did 31 interior windows, remove and replace grids, move furniture, work around the cleaning lady, bring in and set ladders, etc… in 3 hours. That’s a window every 6 minutes. For me that was a little slow, since I haven’t done it in a while. On the second job though it was outside only, 70 windows (casement and fixed) took 3 1/2 hours or 28 windows per hour. There are so many variables we don’t even track that figure.

So many variables. Just outside or inside too? I find I will move faster on the outside even if there is ladder work and trees and bushes in the way just because I don’t have to be careful about dripping water. Also it depends on the type of window…Single pane, double hung, screens? I have been known to do 58 6’x8’ panes of glass inside and out in 42 mins with a 12" squeegee and 14" scrubber. Then again I have some houses where the owners smoke like trains and 10 windows will take me 3 hours. On average I would say I average 1 min a window both sides on a good day, 3 mins tops on a bad day. Unless I am doing storms, ladder work, or there are nic nacs from hell all over the window sills. Just depends on whats around. sometimes the crap that I have to move around the inside will kill my motivation for the outside. I have a employee that works with me all the time and I have to say we have perfected the routine down to a fine science. Once we knocked out 127 pella storms in 5 hours. We were dead tired after. it helped that our squeegees fit just perfect in the windows. once swipe for each pane. I guess it all depends. I always tell my new washers that if they average 10-15 windows in an hour + 30 mins for ladder work they will do fine.

Yeah, I’ll agree to that. Its a vague question though because there many different types of windows.

U are paid for qualty window kleening !! Not for how many u did !! U can change this by getting larger sq and l & z and cutting a sq to the size of window !! One pulls are boring but fast. Learn to pole !!! Detailing all for sides gets qualty too. Some things u can change and some not !! This shows up on routes !! Stan, pro window kleening, 27 years and proud sorbo user

You can be fast and still do quality work. Most my clients love that I am fast and I doubt they would pay me if I did not do quality work. As with anything the more you do it the faster you will get if you are trying to improve.

I always sorta kept about 10 windows in my head as an average per hour.

I’m still fairly new to the biz, but I avg 10 windows in/out in an hour.

Inside and out?

It does not mean much to say how many per hour. What condition are they in? Are there obstacles like plants or furniture? How fast are you that day?

When you look at a job you determine how much time it will take. I never think about how many per hour. The question is how many hours per job?

Thats right. We encounter really scummy paint sprayed, bug pooped baked on windows daily. Sometimes Ive had 10 windows take me two hours! But when you get those repeat customers you did 6 months ago. Then things can be a breeze!

On a good day everything you stated i can do a single story home 11 double hung windows in and out 45 minutes with screens.

What are you doing with the screens?

Do you detail tracks?

Track the variables w/ the window count maybe

I haven’t broken out my squeegee in awile…lol

But I’ll always remember my very first house, 57 panes, by myself, in/out with ladder…6 1/2 hrs!!! LOL
