How low can you go?

This is a good discussion that causes everyone to think, IMO, strategy a little bit for their own business. Is it possible to get stagnant in our ways? Yes, certainly it is. One reaches that comfort zone and thinks they have found the defined way of doing things. Mix it up a little, see what comes out. Nice thing is you don’t have to stick with anything that does not work, or not look at something different that work as well or better.
I still think it is dirt cheap, but I don’t see the plan in action either.

How about this one: “Shopper’s Momentum”?

So the receptionist answered, very broken english. The owner was not in. The coupon is real! 75$ , a flat window is casement style only, no dh. But it includes screens and tracks , each pane after 20 is 3.75 each. one guy approx 2 hours. Jobs under 300 they only send one tech.

I don’t think there is a standard window. Working at a country club yesterday and I noticed just how much difference there is from house to house. I really think he is referring to 20 panes, and he builds his bill from there.__

Yes true An I have done it ,an it was a bad experience made no money wasted lots of time.
This guy does say he has been in business since 2003. Just saying!!! , an all we are doing is stating our opinion.
Hopefully some new buck will come in here read all this An realize he doesn’t have to give away so much service to get customers.

I agree Gary … every aspect of your business has to say professional.

You can’t just create a new term for a pane and stand behind that if challenged when the industry standard is already set, don’t you guys have a department of consumer affairs, they would investigate me if i tried this kinda stuff.

I’m with you on this Garry. Personally, I don’t care for the flyer. I don’t think it would suit my business model. But with growth of internet advertising and online marketing, we all have to be able adjust. Adjusting often entails looking at something from a totally different view and trying things that we might initially seem unappealing.

Funny you say this, because I was on a working vacation last Winter myself and almost hooked up with Shiny windows as a sub!
He is a hard working guy from Hungary and as you can see he is very “Hungary” for the work. If you really want your mind blown, he was contemplating offering every 3rd window cleaning for FREE if they paid for 2 in the year (Genius) :smirk:
His plan I suppose would be on volume having 10 guys doing 4-6 jobs a day and he makes 50%. ($400k + for him)
I thought it was way too stupid cheap. Got in my car and headed back North to do some ice fishing :joy::fishing_pole_and_fish:
What a shame he is cheapening that wealthy market of Sarasota, but Florida is known for older folks wanting a deal.

Ain’t that a fact.

Sorry I didn’t read everyones post. After looking at the flyer, this guy is just looking to get his foot in the door. Keep in mind he is saying “starting at $75.” Rarely will he have someone only have him do $75 worth of work. I am sure he makes all his money on all windows after 20, pressure washing, and paver sealing.

Years ago I mailed out postcards simply stating “Prices starting at $99.” Of all the estimates I went on from that postcard, the lowest job was $300 or more.

Obviously what he is doing is working. We can all learn something from his marketing techniques.

His customers are thinking “Only $150 to clean all my downstairs windows. Sure, go ahead and pressure wash my house for $200 the day before you clean the windows.”

The guy is basically charging 3.75 a pane.

20 Inside and outside would actually make that $1.88 per pane. $75 / 20 panes (flat) / inside and outside (2)= $1.88

Is it considered “falling” for it though? @Chris even mentions in the blueprint that’s how he marketed

each price point range is appealing to different psychographics

the surrounding non-tangibles that add value to one psychographic are meaningless to another

build the business and marketing around appealing to the specific psychographic you want

focus only on price (or another’s price) in itself is the wrong end of the stick to grab

This is lower than my time in Tijuana.
