Hey First time getting out there

I got my door tags Friday about 250 of them. Woke up this morning and told myself let’s do this. I passed out about 125 n now im like I should of ordered more lol. Probably gonna grab about 1,000 more…im optimistic that the calls will start rolling in soon… Any words of inspiration? How long did it take for you to get your first call? I look at it as leaving a mini job application on why they should choose me lol…

Never done the door hanger route but plenty have. Sure in the search bar there has got to be something on this, trouble is the stats might be hiding in oddly named threads.

It’s a numbers game for sure. The more you put out the better.

What to expect? Either calls today, calls tomorrow or calls that trickle in. Many, myself included, have received calls 5+ years after mailing

Good luck!

Post a pic of your door hanger. How did you decide which neighborhood to canvas?

Door hangers do generate calls. My first time ordering I think got like 500? It soon became clear that wasn’t enough. Now I order 5,000 at a time and it is an ongoing process or making the rounds of choice neighborhoods.

When can you expect calls? No real rhyme or reason to it, but you will get a few calls. Could be tomorrow, end of the week, next week, a month or even much more.

Some folks aren’t ready yet, can’t for some reason (anything in life happens), or are waiting until after ::pick one:: the painters, roofers, A/C replace, operation, pregnant, death in the family…it goes on and on. The thing is, keep at it. It is part of your ongoing marketing to get your name out there and drum up business.

Meanwhile, at the grocery store? Leave a business card with the manager. At the restaurant, leave a card; Dentist? Leave a card…etc.

Good luck, let us know how it goes.

you are always “on”.

Know your style and how others take it. I get better results from not “selling” just being me. but you are always selling, always

I stayed in my neighborhood, it’s a really good area. I live 25 minutes from Ft Lauderdale in a very large suburb. Lot’s of stores which tells me the community is making great money. The average resident looked to be about 40-85 years of age. Tomorrow i’m going to go out there finish handing out the rest and order more. I get business cards coming in the mail tomorrow, maybe I will talk to store managers. It’s a bunch of glass down here in South Florida. Just trying to get me a spot in the equation.

I’m pretty sure i’ll land a job in the next 2 weeks. Once I get my first one, that’s all the confidence I need.

Right. Right. I hear a lot of people saying they’re either intimidated in their approach or unsure how to go about client aquisition. Just be yourself and sell, sell, sell.

Hey bro, landed my first job. Only 125 door tags out there, and I got my first call. It’s a doctor who wants service every 3 months on his home. Just like that man, nothing to something. Blessings to you my friend I hope you get a confidence booster too. Turned an idea into profit

That’s an awesome job sounds like. I am literally about to walk put the door to start handing out for the first day. Don’t know why I am so intimidated. Gotta just do it so that’s what I am going to do, good for you that’s very encouraging. I spent some coin on mine so I am hoping they work well.

As far as residential initial response percentages go, I was told that the average response rate is about 1%. That is what I get. Naturally, in the springtime this may be higher depending upon what part of the country you live. Up North here, in the spring, I may get even 5% response during the months of May or June. I don’t even try in the winter. Spring & Fall are my two busiest months.
Once you do get customers, stay in touch with them and do a really good job. After all, it took a lot of work to get that customer.

Go in the morning when they are sleep, and pass out door tags. You will get your message across first. Later you can focus on doing door to door, maybe they will know your company by that point. Also, have it already imagined in your head what the conversation would be like and set the stage. I mean it’s only 1-2 minutes to sell your service don’t overwhelm them. Hold a confidence to your work. Offer a free sample, and kindly go about your day. Just don’t give up, be persistent get to know your area. What type of homes, the values of homes, what areas do you think would likely purchase your service. I’m a noob by all means in the sense of owning my own business, but these are the things I think of when I want to offer my service.

Keep at it none the less, it’s gonna start off slow but we will take off. This is the part is what makes or breaks business owners.

Good advice. I’m hitting in again Monday. I’ll try the early in the morning thing. I am in Phoenix so it’s unfortunate when I leave my hangers thete are often twwo or three business cards for landscaping done by illegals. Dilutes my message I feel like but I’m just bitching.

Not sure id like someone walking up to doors while people are sleeping.

Maybe there is a time that’s too early?
