HELP! Pricing Hard Water Stain Removal

I like all of that info!

As far as the haze goes, there was some, but not a lot. I am confident I can get that off too with one more application and it would be squeaky clean.

This is a corporate deal I’m trying to get and the pricing is the biggest issue. I know you mentioned a seal for the window to close the pores of the glass, however, they are using a nasty chemical with multiple acids to clean the walls of the car wash. It would eat through any seal I put in force.

I determined to do a maintenance schedule after restoration on a monthly basis at half the cost of the restoration. Just in case they try and alter to let’s say every 2 or 3 months instead of each month…

What do y’all think of that?

Just wondering why you say that? Have you tested any before in those conditions? Im not being smart just its been my experience that after a durable sealer has been applied at regular intervals that subsequent cleanings & removal of any deposits are easier. Obviously the 3 factors i know of that break them down (light, temp, abrasion) determine how often they need to be reapplied. And yes cost may be an issue so that may not be what the business wants to do, but do they know thats an option? Offering that service even if it needs to be ever quarter, could differentiate your service from others. Just my opinion though. One of the sealers I havent tried is Enduroshield and i wonder how it would fare? Ive got to by some but so far I havent found any that work for me as good as MHW sealer. Love that stuff and in hard water of western OK it has made my maintenance cleans sooo much easier.

Yeah and thats definitely a good idea to build the extra time into the maintenance price for removing deposits each cleaning.

The bottle of polish he had said EVO but i forgot to ask him. We wet sanded with 2000 grit 1st then polished…its funny because the other headlight looked so much better before but after it looked like it needed polishing because the restored one looked so good.

Yeah man I just pretty much just used the MHW waiver and tweaked it a bit I think. I dont get back home for a few weeks but when I do ill look at it again & if its any different from Jeff’s ill pm you a copy.

Thanks

Going to bid on a restaurant inside a luxury resort that has age old windows. They have staining on the glass from the metal dividers. I was able to scrap some of it with my fingernail to what seemed brass wool and Diamond Magic would do the trick. I’m trying to work up a price for it now. 39 panes each for 10 window sets initially. If they like it a WHOLE lot more windows to schedule.

Any update on this, Garry? I’m going to do 4 6/6 windows next week. Lower half of window has severe hard water staining whereas the top half will come off easily. When I told them it could be up to $600, the lady said “Whatever the cost, just do it”.

And to think that cheapo from the thread @Erica didn’t want to pay $800+ for 100 windows! This lady is ready to shell out $600 or more for 4 windows. Different type of job, of course, but after the week we had quoting jobs it’s nice to have ended it with this bonus job.

That’s great!
Haven’t heard back from the resort with the restaurant and the badly stained windows, but they went with the cheapest last time and then called me - I suspect they may still think luck is on their side to pay cheap and get great.

Looks like mission impossible but if you did a test spot and it worked dont budge on price-my only exclusion on my liability is for stained and leaded (like these) glass-astronimcal to replace and even harder to find firms that do it especially in non metro areas (which is why they want restoration and not replacement).

this is Curtis from 1st and goal cleaning, when it comes to hard water stain removal I charge one-third the cost of what the window would be to replace it.
