Hello! New to the forum - hoping to learn and also bring some digital insights

I have a Google page for my business. Or were you referring to a personal Google page?

your business does not come up as a google page. i like what you’ve done with your fb

We do in fact have a Google page for our business. That is another place where we funnel our customer reviews. You should be able to see it if you search “Ottawa student windows” like I have done below:

why isn’t it showing wnen i search window cleaning ottawa and why isn’t attached to your website?
responsibid down or you cancelled for the off season?

Are you talking about it appearing in the Google Business listings, or in the organic search results?

Here it is within the Google listings:

And if you scroll down the ads you’ll find the organic search result pretty quickly.

Responsibid has been cancelled for the off-season. We are actually going to be implementing a new type of quote form for the 2017 season - stay tuned!

ya i tried responsibid but switched to quoteflare, way more customizable.
ok i found you in google places you just are way down the list as opposed to the regular where you are quite high

I’ve always wondered - is there an “SEO” type thing going on when it comes to Google Places? I had hoped that being one of the few companies in my region with several positive reviews, I would show up more frequently, or even first, but nothing really yet…

yes this is curious because usually come up upquite well in google places but i have fewer reviews

Try searching “ottawa window cleaning” on your mobile phone. I’ve actually seen us rank in the top of the Google Places list from the phone for some reason…

using incognito on phone and pc you do come up higher on the phone (4th) and la bit lower on the regular

Yes, I believe so. I think the criteria is similar to organic rankings: age of (google place) page, quality & quantity of content, and consistent NAPs/citations all play a large part in how you rank.

I was wondering, is “student windows” your site as well? Or just a really unfortunate coincidence?

The worst of all coincidences, in fact. It’s a problem we’re working on. As neither has rights to the trade names given it is not “trademarkeable” by definition.

There absolutely is!

I’ve seen companies with 100s of reviews pushed down on Places because there’s no off page SEO backing it up.

Fortunately, this is my specialty

I was wondering when you would peddle your authorized services on this thread.

Well of course you are - you are the moderator… One who threatens to ban all those who wish to offer competing services to your own unless they have received “authorization” from yours truly.

I don’t think those on this forum are unable to see the little conflict of interest going on there…

There are plenty of other authorized vendors on this forum besides @SqueegeeNinjaNJ. Chris even mentioned one in this thread.

@MattGraves the authorization is not approved by @SqueegeeNinjaNJ dont make assumptions.

i think you are wrong, I don’t know @SqueegeeNinjaNJ at all; but he has been here for a long time and contributed alot before he started his web design business. How do i know this if i dont know him? I have read a lot of old threads and he is in alot of them. You can not come to the forum and offer your unauthorized service with out paying your dues and earning trust. But by all mean continue to offer your free insight it is very helpful ( im not being sarcastic).
