Gutter Cleaning Quote: what are your thoughts?

So today i found a gutter with so many treats in it, even i am stumped on how long it will take to clean

So i wont be using my RHG Gutter Vac for this side, as you can see in the posted photos there are litraly trees growing out of it.

This Gutter is double the size of a normal res gutters, and it is = too a 2 story building in high.

The gutter per side is 52’

I was thinking a 3$ per ’ would be fair, but then i realized that instal was probably around 5 to 7$ per ’

what are your guys thoughs, and how long do you think it would take you to clean this one @.@ buy hand, as i have not done so yet, since i spoiled my self with a RHG vac!

charge as much as your market will allow i guess. I would probably charge %50 more than my usual for really packed gutters like that. But i do gutters by hand on ladders anyway so it doesn’t seem too bad to me.

Definitely not a gutter vac job. The customer allowed it to get this bad so that makes this kind of job more than a standard gutter cleaning.

When people do not adhere to maintenance then things usually cost more to fix. This gutter wasn’t working properly long before trees took root and grew as tall as they did. It should have been obvious that water was flowing over the edge instead of out the downspout. So in short - the clean out charge should be more than normal because the problem is more than normal, right?

You will probably be faster to:

  • Ladder up and just dump the large stuff all over the side
  • Collect the rest in a bucket and bag as you go
  • Clean up the debris off the ground and rake or sweep as needed
  • Verify the downspouts flush
  • Snake, flush, or dismantle as needed (Charge as needed)

Charge what your region/customer can handle. Under $2.50 ft then you should be getting some other worth while perk out of the deal.

Drive time and equipment; second story ladder risk; multiple ladder sets; large amounts of neglected debris; clean up like you were never there. All of this is figured into your time
$2.50 per foot = $260
$3.00 per foot = $312

Is $52 difference worth it to you?

If the pitch on the roof isn’t to bad you walk the roof line…

$2.50 should be fair price.

Downspouts flush for sure, if you have to take apart the gutter to unclog charge a bit more to cover your time…

If you can walk the roof line it shouldn’t take you long at all.

Thats grate thank you everyone for your reply’s, Its grate to hear that my pricing is not to far of in farity, to my self and to the client. It has been a rough week in Estimates and i was starting to wonder if my pricing per foot was to high. But with extensive reading both hear in this post, but in others as well. I agree that 1$ a foot first story and 2$ a foot second story is not a unfair price. I with .50c extra if the gutters are bad such as thees ones hear.

Thank you everyone once again for giving me a state of clarity and ez of mind
