Gutter Cleaning question

For those who do gutter cleaning. If you send out flyers or mailers when do you do it? In the fall? Spring? I would assume fall since leaves are falling and what not. sorry for the dumb question.

Does the leaf fall have a season in Florida?

I don’t actually send out as a specific service but rather as an additional service to my window cleaning. I sell window cleaning - and oh by the way, I see your gutters are full and trees are growing out of them - I also offer gutter cleaning as well.
Sometimes I get the call for just gutters, like today’s job. 226’ of gutter; finished with seconds to spare before the lightning storm rolled in.
My door hangers show Window Cleaning…Screen Repair…Gutter Cleaning. When they call and ask “How much” I say “$100 minimum.” If it’s only two or three screens? I ask them to let me give a free onsite estimate for windows, screens, and gutters. Pick what you would like to cover $100 or more. I can usually up sell more than the little job they called about.

believe it or not yes. maybe more pine needles and such than leaves but gutters need cleaning here. haha

I like @Garry method. Upsell it as part of the job. …Or use it as an in to window customers. Either way, it’s a good way to aquire new customers.

Both ways mentioned work good…

If the pine needles or leafs are falling your behind the 8 ball already…

Send them out…

And that’s how they should look when your done.

We get calls for gutters throughout the year, but I would say spring is especially busy. When the rainy season starts is when people really notice they need their gutters cleaned. So as far as marketing, I think April/May would be great; at least for Central Florida. That’s our plan for next year now that we’ve noticed the trend. But I’ll also say that we have quarterly and semiannual gutter customers, so at least in our area it’s needed way more often than I ever saw up north.

Yes - lots of Oak trees, pine trees, banyan trees, ficus trees, magnolia trees. They all keep gutter cleaning as a needed service.

I tell folks if you see a bunch of leaves on your yard, then you need your gutters serviced too. With lawn maintenance on a regular basis it isn’t that noticeable, so the gutters fill before they realize it.

Not my favorite part of the job so I don’t charge low for it. Yesterday’s job on the side yard was a jungle to navigate to get my ladder in there. No big concern if they go with the cheap guy because I am a window cleaner first. Sooner or later I usually get the job after that avenue is tried.
