Got my first storefront account! (finally)

Just wanted to share the good news with someone. One of the shops I left my bid sheet at earlier this month called today wanting 4-week service. This is the first I’ve gotten since starting my journey into storefronts. I feel like this is just the break I needed. Even though it’s just $30 a visit, this small success will be the beginning of great things.

Cool. Just remember to call back on all your bids after a few days. A great majority of your “yes’s” will be from call backs.

Daniel, how many bids did you give out to land that job? Have you been following up on your other bids?

Now go to other storefronts in the vacinity (with belt on if it’s next door) after you’re done:

"Hi, is the manager available for a quick minute?"
Manger comes…
“Hi, I was just stopping in because I’m in the area [or “was next door”] and wanted to know if you’d like to be included on my 4-week schedule.”

No pressure, give 'em time to think and consider because they may not want to talk numbers right then; if they do, you’d better have a price ready. Speak like you are as reliable as time itself.

Pro-tip, if you get a large storefront (i.e. $80+), it would be worth your while to snag smaller ones in the vicinity that you’d otherwise ignore because driving across town for a $20 or less job just simply isn’t worth it. You can use your other jobs to leverage competitive prices, because you’ll already have your gear out and ready to go from the last job.

You got an ‘IN’, keep going, congrats and good luck on more.

I’ll have to count them up… Quite a few though. I’ve been diligently working on follow up and just landed another deal this morning (while still in bed, no less lol). I’m seeing that work doesn’t just come to you (I kinda knew that already but didn’t really grasp the full extent of it); you really have to fight for it. But it’s so nice knowing that even though there’s so much non-paying work involved, once you get another client, now you have a new continuous source of income.

Oh, and the job i mentioned in the original post… Just gave them the cleaning of a lifetime - literally; the owner said she hasn’t seen the windows this clean in her entire 30 years there. She was ecstatic. The feeling of pride in my work has been pleasantly lingering with me the last few days. Love it!

Aha! Does this mean our marketing would be better if we got more racktime? Hmm, not sure I can give up time with NFL Network for more racktime.

Yeah, it’s a lot easier to sell with your belt on after you just finished their neighbors. “If you would like to get on the schedule, I noticed you had a lot of cobwebs, I can take care of those for you while I’m here.”

That’s the key right there: if you sat back and waited for the phone to ring, you’re going to go out of business really quick. But what’s nice about this business if you’re slow one week, YOU can go out and get work.
