Glass Gleam 4 dilemma

There are times where the wndows are almost clean and soap will speed up the drying to much. Second level windows are like this in some situations.

When it is hot, soap seems to dry it too fast and it doesn’t look good.

Yes, When I spoke with Harv at Titan Industries (they make GG4) he said there are many variables out there in regards to window cleaning such as weather, soil level, rubber, sun, temperature, etc. I believe he said it is a personal choice what soap a cleaner will ultimately go with due to thier situation. I live in New England near the ocean. I love the results I get with GG4. GG4 is sold all over the world to a kazillion window washers who feel the same way I do. The supplier I mentioned before told me that the Glass Gleam line is their most popular detergent, maybe 70% of detergent sales. But it is not for everybody.

" A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still" I don’t know who said it

I did the inside of a smoky bar yesterday (outside too). Last time the insides were done was over two years ago. Glisten was useless. Added a bead of Dawn to the strip washer.

Huge difference. Glisten alone was NOT working. Dawn alone would have been fine…but I did not want to swap out an entire bucket…so i added the dawn. Cut that nicotine crap like butter.

Thank you. I used GG4 with Dawn yesterday and I liked cleaning with it. I am giving Glisten a try today just because I want to be open minded. Yesterday I put 1/4 oz. of Dawn in a 8 oz. float bottle, then added 1/4 oz. of that solution to my 2 gallon bucket of GG4. The glide was good enough for me to do what I wanted to do with my squeegee.

That yellow brownish water makes me want to puke.

I use dawn only and have quite a few commercial accts. that tell me that the glass is still clean come back next month, and sometime this will happen again when I return.

Don’t know if I would want the prolonged cleaness of GG4,I haven’t used it before however am going to try it out one of these days.

Think I’ll try my gutter zap first.

Three words:
Paint
Ball
Gun

Now why haven’t I thought of this before.Genius pure Genius.

I use Simple Green or Titan Green added to my stripwasher for nicotine or greasy fingerprints. Works great!

I have thought recently about adding nicotine to my washer.

(NOTE* it sounded funny in my head)

Don’t try that one in court.

had to read that a couple of times…the more I read it the funnier it got…

Merv…I must say…your reply is very wise ! All the rest of you, try some TSP, It has the slip and leaves a gleam to the glass, a great grease cutter…great on cig smoke !

What I’m reading here from Merv…as I said before is “wisdom” and now that we know how long Merv has been at, it we can deduce -some wisdom- if not all, is based on experience !

AGAIN I must reiterate…“The man speaks with wisdom” !

Merv, when did you get a new name?

I normally use Unger’s Easy Glide which works pretty well. I have used the Glass Gleam 3 several years back and I feel it did a nice job. I have yet to use the Glass Gleam 4. When ordering cleaning solution, they can be expensive. When I ordered a quart of Unge’r Easy Glide…it would cost me $20 by the time you added shipping. One day I walked into a Home Depot…there it was on their shelf $5.99. They also sell it by the gallon as well. When I get in a pinch, I use Dawn and a splash of ammonia, however, I use Unger’s product because; it does a nice job, customers like the smell, and windows really shine nicely. I can tell a difference when having to switch to Dawn and ammonia for the day.
