Getting started...Gear setup

And you can reach 2nd story windows?

idk haven’t tried. sorry not really helping. lol

Any info helps. I know some windows are lower 2nd story. Some may be a bit higher then normal 2nd story… A avg height is what im looking for

Grab a 24 and use what you need?

Get an 8’ to start… MUCH lighter and u will use that 99% of time on storefronts. When u get a 2 story, THEN get a 24’. U will not want to use a 24’ pole on a window that is jist out of reach.

One day i left my 8’ at a previous stop, and v rather than go back and get it i used my 18’ unger… it was so heavy and awkward. Took so much time to complete.

No, an 8’ pole will not reach the second story unless the house is owned by dwarves. Normal human residential stories are about 10’ each. Plus, you are standing at an angle, so the pole is really a hypotenuse while the height is the shorter side of a triangle. Also, you can’t count the entire length of the pole because you need a few feet to grab onto and you don’t typically work with it above your head.

I would go with the 24’ as others have suggested.

So a 12’ would be too much to start with? Im ok with 8’ just didnt know if that would be too short to start. (As commercial windows seem to be all different sizes and heights…as in no 2 are the same lol)
I think ill hold off on the 24’ until i need it. But def feel i will need it 1 day  and nothing wrong with having 2 or 3 poles in the truck…even as backup

When I forget my 8ft I use the 12ft until I get a chance to go back and get it.

8ft is the go to size over 95% of the time for me.

Another starter question…Ideally you go into stores and talk to them face to face. But in a pinch, is it wrong to call and ask if they have a window cleaning service already? Again not ideal but better than nothing

Probably worse than nothing

Really? Not saying i would but the thought has crossed my mind.

I’ve emailed corperations with bids. Sometimes you cant get a face to face.

Maybe thats where im thinking. If you cant get face to face. Is it wrong to pitch via phone or is an email better so you can attach your logo(like send a resume or pretyped estimate, filled in with their specific quote of course)

Both. Email them, then follow up with a phone call to ensure they received the email.

Sidenote: Ecover…where do you buy it? Is it ok if it has aloe or is mango scented…like does those things matter

Ecover at Canadian tire here in Canada

What about here in the states? I find online but its like $14 in shipping…

Ecover is good but if you can’t find it just use dawn. Dawn may not be as eco friendly but dawn is the bomb!

Yeah i currently use dawn and im only in practice phase. What about Simple Green…or any ecofriendly… I assume all work the same
