Flyers and special pricing promotions to customers

Hello everyone! Hope your day is going well!
So I have put together what I believe to be a decent flyer/doorhanger for my first round of residential canvassing. A couple questions though if you all don’t mind… I thought it would be wise to include a call to action, ie. a special season deal with an expiry date to get things rolling. Does 10% off an I/O with tracks and screens sound reasonable or is a flat $ amount better? Also what is the best length of time for an end date? Any advice would be very welcome to this newbie, thanks!

First thing is, do you really need to offer a discount?
Maybe, it can help to generate some interest but not always needed if the customer wants the work done. (That is who you want!)

Since they don’t know how much it will cost the % is after thought.
$25 off…people think, “I could save $25.” Either way may work, but starting out - how sure are you of your pricing? What if you land a huge job and under bid? We’ve all done it, then 10% off of a wrong bid might sting a wee bit.

Try a discount for the first 10 windows to lure them in, then regular price for the remainder. If you hit a huge two story with 72 windows and 8 sliders that haven’t been cleaned in years, then you are only discounting 10 bad windows instead of 72.

Great points. I’m certainly going to underbid some jobs, no doubt and a discount on top of it would make for an even longer day. Do you think a ‘sale’ flyer would get more response than a regular informational one for a new unknown company? I’m probably overthinking this.

Yea, who knows, some say yes while others say otherwise. It is all marketing ploys I would say?

My first flyers were worded fairly similar to my latest; I discount for return customers on a quarterly basis. Most people who called from my flyers mentioned that they liked the professional look of my flyer and that was why they called. I didn’t offer “Sale Bargains” or “Call me and I’ll give you…”. I just offered my services.

I can’t say whether I would have received 10 or 20 more calls otherwise, but I can say I received calls that turned into paying jobs. Window cleaning can, and at times is, a labor intensive endeavor. I do the most work for full price and then the somewhat easier maintenance work (every 3 months in/out) for 20% less. That way if a job is a one off I did not do it for less than it was worth. That is just me; someone else may see it differently.

At the risk of sounding flippant, at the end of the month money earned pays the bills, not money let go. I believe the trick is to charge extra so you can charge less.
