Fall Arrest Systems

#1

Hi,

I am looking for information on Fall Arrest Systems. I am finding plenty of information on the equipment needed such as harnesses, lanyards, shock absorbers, lifelines, etc. but haven’t found anything on setting up the equipment properly to ensure the system is safe.
The reason I am looking is because I am submitting a bid for cleaning a 6 storey building. The first 5 stories can be cleaned by wfp and the sixth floor can be cleaned from the roof because there is a ledge (ledge width ranges from 4’ to 14’ wide). Do any of you have experience/knowledge in this area or can you direct me to the appropriate resources?

Thanks,

It might be cheaper to go and rent a sky lift or scissor lift for your job.

They run from 200-350 day depending on the size of them.

Wow…thats CHEAP compared to where I rent from. Where do you rent from, Ed?

United Rentals in Oshawa, main depot in Brampton

my rental charge for a 60ft articulating lift for 2.5 days total was $1300 including delivery and all the surcharges, from United Rentals.

And even with a lift, you still need the proper fall arrest system in place (harness, lanyard etc.)
