Facebook Boost Post

I got a small Facebook page set-up for my window cleaning and was wondering if anyone has any luck doing the Boost Post for $30 a month? It says the post is getting views but i am not too sure how generic it is for how many people have actually seen it. But it seems cheap enough, other than it beeing free already.

Check out this group on Facebook.

Thanks brother! Just waiting for the approved Facebook join

I boost my FB ads. I try to do a new pic or video every week but sometimes it’s just reruns of me cleaning the same window as the week before.
People know that the window will be super clean since they can see me cleaning it for two weeks in a row

Does it ever lead to anything or just more views?

We have a personal friend who does social media marketing. She helps us out just as a favor. She told us that boosting a post will not get enough return for the money. It isn’t targeted enough.
From what she was saying it sounds like when you do that it will show the post to a lot of people, but no telling whether they even live in your area.

Yea… Boosts used to be a lot hotter than they are now.

So you can segment a boost like this currently:

  1. People that like your page.
  2. People that like your page and their friends.
  3. People you choose through targeting.

1 - Is relatively cut and dry. This is the main reason you SHOULD NEVER invite industry people and other window cleaning friends to like your page.

2 - This can be cool sometimes. I’ve had good luck with this.

3 - You can drill into state level, age, and interests. I usually find this to be too broad.

If I were you I would try a $5 per day actual ad through the ad manager. It will be better at driving conversions. ( sales )

FB ads do lead to paying customers for me and I have been told by local people that they see them.

My $300 job four days ago was acquired because the client did a FB search for a window cleaner who would service her area. Her home is 600 miles away from my base of operations but I have been including her area as a targeted area because I want to schedule work in her area when I travel there to visit my kids and grandson.

One caution is that my usage of FB might not translate to areas with larger populations as I am in a small Alaskan town at the end of the road.

thank you and I appreciate your feedback. I think I will just stick with doing Facebook with the friend sharing my page and photos thing for now, then do the ad like you suggested.
Facebook has been doing a lot of ads lately on their page (got to pay the bills right?) but to me it’s just like a commerical that no one wants to see. Window washing? We do that our self. So my message would already be lost.

That incorrect to think no one want to see the ad. Facebook is strong platform people in your local market use it everyday to search for items, services and recommendations from friends!

I dislike Facebook on a personal level, but on a business level…Dang the roi is fantastic!

Right BUT you are not your target customer. Your target customer is likely a housewife that spends 2- 3 hours a day browsing Fb & Instagram.

Picture this:

  1. Install the FB pixel on your website. Show ads to everyone that has previously visited in the past 60 days. They showed an interest at one point why not now?

  2. Upload your customer database to the FB ad manager. Show them ads like “time to get back on the schedule.”

  3. Clone your best customers in the FB ad manager. Show them ads.

Not trying to shove it down your throat just wanted to highlight how awesome it actually is. It works

Hmm, I will have to look into this @Chris more than. My take on the ad was it was going to be randomly popping up everywhere. I look at Facebook so I can see their past work so I can see how that works but I have never sat down to actually find someone on Facebook for services.
So another words Facebook is not completely written off yet

Cool, you’ll thank me - I promise.

The level of granularity is staggering. You could target down so deep it’s unreal.

good luck!

My targeting is:
Age 35-65
Several towns
Four interests that have “home” in them, such as “home ownership”, “home improvement”

Edit: I also use FB to run posts with pics and business names of clients. They appreciate the free advertising and it highlights my commercial abilities. I also share some of their ads to my page, doesn’t cost a dime to be helpful to my clients and keeps my page updated with fresh content.
