UThanks for the reply.

I just want to have everything fair and equal. Too often il see a pane and its like hmmm is that med or small? To be honest il usually decide based on customer. Exactly what I dont want to do. At one point I tried having just regular panes and large panes. Didnt feel right (for the customer mostly) charging same for a 3ā€™x6" transom as a 3ā€™x4ā€™ for example. Hate telling customer that their big casement window is just as easy and time consuming as their little basement window. Customer is always right.

Thinking of having small, med, large and set a min and max square inches for each category. Not actually going to measure the panes but I think it may help the customer categorize them correctly and feel good about it and see it as a logical and fair way to come up with a price.

Essentially I want to be able to show customer how I came to the price and have them agree it is a fair and logical way of pricing - customer is always right. I also want a standardized pricing system that anyone can understand and use.

Edit: I want to be able to bid identically to responsibid even if I dont have a internet connection. I also want to be clear with my pricing so when a customer is like wow $xxx? It is justified and detailed in the quote right there. I didnt choose the price, the system did.

Cheers and thanks again for the help.

Donā€™t measure the panes. You can change the responsibid icons and use your own photos of a good example
Of each size window. When a customer uses responsibid you lose some quoting accuracy but you gain a lot of time and gas savings. Alsoā€¦ responsibid has no emotions. So, whereas I feel bad about charging more for those thirds storey windowsā€¦ responsibid is a cold hearted b1tcg and charges the correct price. I know I gross more $ with it and Iā€™m pretty sure on average I bet more $ too

This is why I often do ā€œin personā€ calculations on my iPhone notes App. Not internet means no responsibid.

Tips.

Keep it simple. Three window sizes covers 90% of houses.

Learn your service levels. Itā€™s two main levels. Basic (out) deluxe (in out). Premium is the upsell with extra feature and not relevant to every customer. Great if you sell it, no worries if you donā€™t. It will include a deep frame and track clean or a house wash. So itā€™s easy to explain.

Have a boss. I am the boss. But when someone pushes uncomfortably hard for a discount I have to call and ask the boss because the boss gave me the calculator. It deflects the pressure a lot.

If your responsibid adds a ladder chargeā€¦ be tough on yourself and add the ladder charge when doing the math in person.

This has been a great increase in gross $ for me. I use wfp so I donā€™t care about charging more for high windows. Itā€™s not like I have to lug a ladder round and climb up there. But the customer gets great value because THEY didnā€™t have to do it. So remember to charge for the value.

I open the call screen for responsibid on my iPad and fill it all out and then once it gives me the pricing, which is the same screen that the cusomter gets emailed, I hand them the iPad and let them check it out. I go over it all and ask if they would like to schedule an appointment. If they are hesitant I let them know that they already have a copy of the email sitting in their email and all they have to do is select the package and click schedule and it will notify me to contact them.
