EDDM campaigns door hangers internet results

Hi guys I am just starting out I have a website and I was trying Google Adwords so far I have 0 response there. I am thinking to try EDDM , door hangers and Facebook. Can you share some thoughts with your experience with those methods and also what is best working for you.

I used door hangers last year and got about 15 resi accounts from about 1400 hangers. This year I’ve put out under 300 hangers and already booked several jobs as a result. Sent 5000 postcards EDDM and have been getting calls daily. I recommend both.

The EDDM that you sent how many times did you send them and what frequency also what was the approximate response rate on them?

This was my first mailing; I’ll be doing several more this year. So far I’ve given out 17 estimates in two weeks. That does include responses to the door hangers and possibly an internet call or two.

Last year, I dropped the door hangers in May through June and was getting calls into October. So to have 17 estimates in just two weeks has been phenomenal for me. For the first time ever, I’m booked a month out. And I haven’t even called last year’s customers yet (although two have already called me).

That’s great did you send the EDDM campaign all 5000 at once or twice or more?

I sent 2500 one week, the rest the next. Every area that i sent seems to be producing results so I’ll be sending 5000 more to the exact same areas. I did a ton of prep work in selecting the routes, but it was worth it. And now it’s done! Rinse and repeat.

As an added bonus, it’s really cool doing an estimate and seeing the card on their table or stuck to the fridge.

Sounds great I will try it. Out of curiosity where are you located and what is the average income in your area. Also on the EDDM did you include coupons of promotions or just information about your company and services

Northeast Pa, which has a pretty low standard of living. In general i excluded any routes under 70k average income, although i took a chance on a few 50k routes. The highest one was 90k. The vast majority here don’t make anywhere near that money though. The reason I used door hangers was because some routes literally have expensive houses and trailers on the same route. If there appeared to be too many houses on which the cards would have been a waste, i just hung door hangers on the good ones.

I drove every route first, too. A few good seeming ones ended up off the list upon closer inspection. Mainly trailers or similar, so the high average income was likely being skewed by a few multimillionaires that are hidden away. Some of the lower income routes had houses that just seemed to fit the bill when i saw them in person, so i added them. My gut was right as I’ve received calls and scheduled work.

I included no company info as my name already explains what is being offered. I included an early-bird special coupon for $25 off of inside only service and $35 off in/out.

I’d say 75% of my business has come from Google and Google Adwords.

Vision Jared I have Adwords express ad on from 5 days so far I haven’t got a single call. Is there any secret how to run this ads? Maybe I am doing something that is wrong

Here is what my ad looks like and my budget. I adjust things daily depending on the weather and time of year. Be active with it, if you can.

Do you not have any clicks on your ad or are you just not thinking that people are calling you? Do you have the google verified call option enabled?

I did read it very useful book but I am going to try a few different methods so far Ad words doesn’t work for me and I read different opinions about EDDM. Some of us saying that they have 0 response or 1-2 calls for 1000-2000 eddm pieces sent out. Do you personally use EDDM?

1-2 k is not eddm it is a test of a mail piece.
i have never used adwords but i have read it is heavily dependant on your ad and the competition.
my budget for eddm (canadian equivilant) is $20k from now till oct.
do i have 20 k? no. the first drop wil pay for itself and and the next drop. the drop drop will fund the following 2 etc etc.
i you have the time, door to door or hangers or hand delivered flyers is great, use that to develop your piece and then when you feel you have something that gets results sent it out on a bigger scale.
over and over and over again.
if you have the book you have a money printing machine but it is up to you to push print!
