Down stream injector not working

Before I begin if this isn’t the right forum to ask power washer questions just let me know. Anyway, I had a job today and I got screwed cause my down stream injector isn’t working or something. Soap is not applying to the house. I mean a small amount is but not enough to work. I run 150’ of pressure wash hose. It’s a 4gpm. Honda gx390 Simpson. I think it’s a AAA pump. This machine is brand new. I’ve seen a lot of YouTube videos of people just rinsing the house with bleach then rinsing it off and all that green mildew comes right off. I have not had that luck what so ever. Trying to do this soft wash business and it’s stressing me out! Any ideas let me know thank you

Several guys here do PWing, but you might get a better response on the PWRA forum.

Anyway, first things first. This will sound like a dumb question, but are you using the proper tips? If you’re not using soap tips, you won’t draw any chemical because the back pressure will be too much for the injector to draw.

Next, do you have the proper injector for your machine? Is the injector facing the right direction (the arrow should be going with the flow of water toward your reel)? It could be lots of little things.

Edit: I highly recommend you watch this video from Michael Kreisle. It will help you to understand what exactly is going on when you DS and also determine what your issue might be.

I don’t mean to be negative but, you screwed yourself by not testing all your equipment before you started booking appointments for work for such services. Without making sure your good to go.

Okay well my equipment is brand new and it did work until I installed 150’ of hose and a buffer tank installed.

Yes I’m using the correct tips. I’ve seen videos where all they use is soap tips and they are rinsing off the roughest of mold and mildew. But without soap applying it’s like hitting the house with a garden hose. And yeah I mean I bought the machine as a whole kit, it came brand new from the factory I couldn’t imagine them putting on the wrong down stream injector

Hard to say then. Maybe post some pictures of your setup, including injector placement, etc.

I’m thinking it’s my hose length and my weak trigger gun. My gun is rated at 6.6gpm and I upgraded from a 50ft hose to 150ft hose. I did a job today and switched back to my 50ft hose and the soap was coming out. I went ahead and ordered a 12gpm trigger gun from pressure tek

Feel your pain man.Bought a new PW last month and first job with it i realised the ripchord was broken.Only pulled out about 3inches!Needless to say i was pissed as it was a day wasted and money lost for the day.Brought the machine back that day and insisted he give me the cash i paid for immediately.Had to hire a machine the next day for same job and took my business elsewhere for a new machine.Hope you get it sorted.

I didn’t even think to ask about the gun. Yeah, you want one with as much GPM as possible! Use your shorter hose for now and after you get your new gun you can try it with 150’ of hose and see if it works.

Question: Are you using the injector built into the pump or not?

Yes I am

bet the injector can’t pull enough with that much hose

TOTALLY, those on pump injectors only draw at max 20 meters of hose(60ish feet).
You defiantly need an injector after the pump.

downstreaming does not work properly with 150 feet of hose. That’s one of the down sides. That’s why I usually use an x-jet.

I downstream with 125 feet of hose just fine.

problems typically begin at 150’

I draw perfectly with 200’ of hose. I’ve even had to add an extra 50’ to that, with no problem. The issue isn’t the amount of hose, it’s the quality of the injector.

How many GPM is your pump?

4gpm

Well, I just bought a new 12gpm trigger gun. Waiting for it to get here and see if that helps. Do you recommend what type of downstream injector I could use for a AAA pump? 4gpm/4200psi if that helps. If you need better specks I could get those
