Door Hanger Input Please

Yes, maybe I should consider that approach. It would make the price more attractive. Back when I did this the first time around my mind set was if the screen came out it got brushed before it went back it…it was built into the cost. I’ll have to see what it does to the numbers…not everything has screens and doing it the old way created a fudge-factor.
Thanks WCS

Yes, I agree.

I understand what you are saying. It doesn’t bother me all that much. I like that the Call to Action and the phone number stand out from the door hanger. The rain guarantee is kind of a ‘set your mind at easy’ feature…it rains a lot here…maybe I’ll change the color. Maybe I’ll change it’s location.

It’s not now, see last posted door hanger, the ‘Time to clean your windows’ and the box around the phone number are the same ‘#ff3300

Often I run across jobs with no screens or only a few screens, tracks bad or not so bad.

Price:
A) Windows $X (multiplied 20 times exterior) + Tracks $X + Screens $X = $XXX
B) Window $X multiplied twice 20 times (in/out) + Tracks $X + Screens $X = $XXX

If screens and tracks can be eliminated either because not needed or minimal enough work to not charge to sweeten the deal then you have that leverage.

Just a thought.

Garry, are you suggesting I should reduce the listed price on the door hangers and add the screen and track price when needed? The reason to do this is to create a more attractive price? Is that what you are suggesting?

16 Exterior Window $96 (one double hung = $6) 16 in and out for $168

Is that kind of what you are talking about…if you have a better price or pricing structure let me know.

As we all know, rarely is there the idea house for a one-price-fits-all

I have reduced my price once I get to the job site if it turns out to be less work, I have also raised prices for things that turn into more work…ladder work, excessive crud on windows, screens corroded in frames, etc…

I would suggest pricing based on the work involved, so yes screens would be extra.

Even though I live in Florida many times I run across homes with no screens. I have had, in the past, my estimate to state cleaning windows and screens, then have a customer say “Well, I don’t have screens”.

As many may know screens often times are more work or time consuming than the actual window itself, then tracks too.

I have an IPC Eagle II screen cleaner. Makes screen cleaning easier and a showy part of the whole cleaning process that I offer my customers. There is an additional charge to clean screens.

I used to price windows including screens and tracks. Now, I still do charge as such, but I price them separately on my (for my eyes only) work up sheet.

  • Window cleaning price
  • Track cleaning price
  • Screen cleaning price
  • Adds up to total price
Then any add ons like screen repair, gutter cleaning, ceiling fan cleaning, aviary glass cleaning (YES I have one job where I clean the glass of an aviary!)

Thanks Garry for changing my perspective on this.

I will change my pricing methods.

Thanks again for the information.
