Different brands of rubbers with different channels?

I am brand new to window cleaning. Right now I am liking Ettore and the Moerman liquidator.

Is it okay to use either rand of rubber with bother channels?

Yes. Except Unger rubber only works with Unger.

All the rubbers are slightly different so sometimes they don’t work as well in someone else’s channel as they do in their own. It’s all about to much or to little tongue.

I purchased a Moerman Liquidator and found my Ettore rubbers are a hard slide into it. Found it really depends on the gross of rubbers I get, some have more of a bump on the back, rounded side of rubber.

I wont buy multiple brands of rubber, ill stick with what fits Ettore rubber. I like simplicity, not carrying too much of anything, slows production down when the crews are searching for things or trying to make things work.

That’s strange. For the past 20 plus years I have always used Unger hard rubber in Brass Ettore channels & now in my liquidator with the paper clip end fix and I don’t have any problems at all.

That’s only because some guys like more tongue than others. Maybe it’s less tongue I forget. Haha

Then you’re a better cleaner than I am.

I lifted this picture off jared’s link. This is tongue.

The one on the right would have less tongue than the rubber in the channel because it’s shorter.

I’m starting to wonder now. See the guys I started out with in the early 90’s only used what was called back then Unger Easy Glider which was a hard rubber with Ettore Brass Squeegee’s. Once that was no longer I used Unger hard till the beginning of 2014 when I got out of the business. The Unger Hard rubber I have now is still from 2013. From the looks of that thread it seems they might have changed some things with the rubber and maybe the quality control is lacking also. Thanks for the info! This might stop me from re-ordering the Unger Hard when I start my business back up. I do have some Facelift Razr Red rubber on the way to try. Also, have some Black Diamond Hard on hand which works well also.

winter tires must have a production date and you’re never supposed to buy more than a year old, why? because rubber ages.

I understand that. As I said I’ve ordered some new rubber. The old rubber is still doing the job fine when I’ve cleaned a few windows here and there lately but I’m got fresh on the way for my start up in April. Only point I was trying to make was the last time I really used Unger Hard was back in 2013.

If my emergency seven year old 3 star skids off the glass and bursts into flames, I’ll be sure to take my first ever selfie.
