Customer list program?

I’m looking for a simple program similar to a ‘rolodex’ where I can scroll down to a customer’s name, read all their current and prior pricing, large comments section and the usual phone numbers, address etc.

We’ve been struggling with an Excel file but it’s a real PITA. I don’t have employees, don’t need any kind of reminder/marketing/follow up automation, or any sort of mileage, gas, equipment useage tracking.

Any suggestions?

We love jobber. You can have all the client info there as well as a really great scheduling tool and quote/invoicing tool. The biggest trick we use is making every job a reoccurring job. Then you schedule a “visit” of the job. It’s super easy to use. It was the only calendar system we found flexible enough for our needs and also very powerful.

I appreciate it, really just need a customer list program. We keep paper records of scheduling and pricing so have that covered, just need something to keep records of customer’s information.

It gets frustrating when we get a call from Customer X and have no idea what their price was 4 years ago and they want the same rate.:unamused:

Once you put in the effort to impliment a new system, such as new software, it’s hard to imagine ever working without it. QuickBooks online is a good place to start.

I want to buy vehicles for the same price they were when I was in high school, but it hasn’t worked out for me yet. That inflation thing, sure has bit me on the butt.

I use quickbooks for accounting. I have a history of each client in it. Every completed invoice, every estimate. I also use a paper estimator form I made as a “hardcopy” that includes prices and any job notes, so that I can remember what special circumstances there were.
They are not electronic rolodexes, but I never run to do a job the same day someone calls either. All my work is scheduled so I have time to look up the info you are wanting a rolodex for.

Just enter it into the notes in the contact info on your phone?

We did that, with limited success. It doesn’t let you list prior pricing and comments unfortunately. If I didn’t have over 600 customers I would just manually type everything up and stick it in a binder.

You are going to have to manually enter all of the customers you have from the start anyway. So, have you checked out the George Customer Program yet ? Winter would be a good time to make that transition - especially if you do residential and your work load falls off. Do it in the low peak season.

I looked at that Aworka program, it’s just not what I’m after.

If you have that many, why aren’t you using QuickBooks? If you were, you would have that info at hand.

No, that’s not slighting you. If your data base is that big, you should already have some type of system in place to do the work you need done. It sure would make your life easier.
I have been a quickbooks user for the last 5 years. This year I am introducing Markate to my business, in hopes of streamlining everything and adding more useful features to my business. Putting things on auto pilot, like reminders of us coming, emails, thanks you’s, and requests for reviews.

I don’t hate the office end of things, but it doesn’t make me money like marketing and selling does. So anything that frees up your time to grow your business, IMO, is money well spent.

Just not sure what else to say to help…George is a customer list program that is very basic. As Hoosier said so is QuickBooks but not specific to window cleaning. Either would be good choices for organization and pretty comprehensive tracking of history and current information. Let us know how you proceed. Good Luck - Jeff
