Commercial bid help

These are $150 each, you trying to go out of business buying 100

You’re getting ripped off.
They used to be close to that many years ago from only one place that sold them over here, a landscaping supply place…but even dixieline has 2 kinds of them, not the reclaimed water one but the 3/4" and 1/2". The 1" or 1 1/2" now THAT one is the whopper right now.

I’m paying 25 or 30 bucks for them now. Theres 4 or 5 places that sell them here in SD.
On the thing there’s a stamp that says made in Mexico, which is where I live. I’ve been trying to find out where the plant is that makes them, I KNOW they would be only a few bucks each. NOBODY sells them here tho. I’ve looked.
I’ve never seen any connections for them on any building I’ve been to here either. Maybe strictly export only.

Did you know about the female part being able to unscrew?

Oh god, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. Is this something else i need to know about??

We’re talking about the tool @anon46335951 took a photo of in this thread. You use it to connect a garden hose to get water out of the irrigation system on commercial properties and condos.

They usually are under a round plastic removable lid scattered along the sidewalks or outer perimeter of grassy areas etc.

These types of places don’t want running water for many reasons (bums, people leaving the water on and nobody knowing until its too late etc…)

These are used commonly in downtown settings where no water spickets are visable on the building.

It taps into irragation and is good water source but isnt well known.

Come in 4 sizes largest is 3/4 and most common here. I have only used the one size in 20 years.

No joke, I got stuck without one about a year after I started my business. Landed a nice commercial job, got a great price for it, showed up to do the work and then realized I couldn’t get at the water =(

Fortunately there was a hardware store about 5 minutes away. Could have been worse, I suppose.
