Collateral

what do u residential guys leave behind (literature wise) after a job is finished ?

An invoice.?

no i mean like advertising

I don’t understand, you said after the job.
Why do you need to market to someone who is already a customer, do you mean for referrals, I normally leave them with a few cards to give to their friends.
My work is all is needed for a referral.

Business cards and a fridge magnet if they want one.

i like the idea of a fridge magnet.

Don’t get CHEAP ones. Make sure they will hold a sheet of paper or two, without sliding down the fridge, or people will just toss them.

When I do residential the customer always get a
"Thank You Card"
And few business cards for there friends.

I learned this from @windowsrx!

You leave it behind?

I mail mine within two weeks to keep them thinking of my business.

yeah that’s what im looking for, examples of thank you cards/brochures/here are some other services we offer… kind of stuff.

Yes I leave it behind. If the client is not home I leave it on the counter where they leave the check for us.

I get their email address and add them to my weekly email list with promotions and seasonal offers alongside a card and flyer that I staple to their invoice.

Thanks Steve. A simple Thank You card is always appreciated. It is the little things that matter.

Keep up the great work! I have learned a lot from you as well. Thanks for always sharing what works for you.

Where is the “collateral”?

I have always understood collateral as something like this. “She put up her home as collateral to get the business loan.”

I am sure they didn’t mean to use that word in the subject line. They just wanted some ideas of what we leave with customers.

I was really confused by the OP. I was like. Well this one time i left behind MY BRAND NEW BUCKET LID!

Then i was like oh. I leave behind clean windows when im done… In the end. Im still a bit confused by what OP wanted…

Leave Business cards, Thank you cards, and get their email address.

You should always get their email address within the first conversation.

Something like this…

“Great now that I have your address, let me get your email address while my program pulls up the pictures of your home or business and I can then email you a quote once we go over all your needs and and I give you the price.”

Hope this helps any readers of this post!

Agreed, I have a bad habit of waiting too long. Im still stuck in the fact people “Hate” email. They think being asked for email always means JUNK MAIL/SPAM

we always get email on our contracts.

collateral is a sales term meaning marketing material.
