Cold calling over the phone?

Hey guys just throwing this out there. I have had pretty good success with face to face marketing for my storefronts, but was curious to see if anyone has tried just picking up jobs from calling business establishments. If you have what is your success rate, and could you give me an example of a script that may work well. I’m going to try a phone call campaign this week and will call 50 storefront prospects a day and record my results vs canvassing. I seem to get 1-3 people per 50 I hit face to face and if results are even in the 1-2 range I think straight calling could be much more efficient time wise. What are your thoughts?

Anything is worth a try, IMO. What works for one guy, might not work for another.

That said, I think most people do FTF because it yields a lot more jobs. Have you tried selling to those already close on your routes?

You could simplify by making a generic bid sheet with their name, prices for whatever you’ll offer, day of service, and any pertinent info you would want them to quickly see. Include a business card with a paperclip to hold it all together. I do this.

My past employer did this exclusively with good success. His sales people never went into the field , all the leads were priced ahead of time .

This works well with residential sales, and especially when you get an old person you can intimidate.

Welcome to the forum, Jeff. It feels like this place has been missing something without a resident troll. Looks like you’ll fill the role nicely
