I hate trying to tell people how to do it. Becuse there are Manny ways an a lot of right ways
With that said.im glad to see your using the tools in your hands more.

With Windows like that wet as many tiops in as possible (takes time to understand how far you can go till it dries by the time you get to the last one you wet it ). Do Tops then finish bottoms tools in hand.

Only wet 1/3 - 1/2 of the way down them go back An pull them all. Them do the rest by hand

Forget the stick when doing the dooors. Squeegee In one hand strip washer in the other.
These are just my opinions. Take it for what it’s worth.

Also Hold the pioke with your top hand a little looser … let it slide a little down so you don’t have to contort your back so much

Btw your getting good with the squeegee in your hands :+1:

Thanks, I usually don’t use the pole to wet the doors. I did the tops and didn’t feel like taking it off. I should have a 2nd mop in my bucket so I don’t have to keep taking it on and off.

No need for a 2nd mop. Maybe a second stick of your doing 4 piece stick work. But that is not 4 piece stick Work that is 1 piece
Taken it in an off isn’t that difficult

Any way what in trying to tell you with your stick work is your using your back to much. No need to go all the way down like that

For me it was one of those “ahh haa” moments where I ask myself if I’m either getting smarter or lazier. Either way, it’s a better motion. It’s the smart kinda lazy that really takes you places in this line of work.

I’ve been doing a lot of pole fanning with an excelerator and wagtail, which is great for hot glass and a couple other applications (wetting to the top), but for speed, using a big channel has been fastest due to the fact that I can pull down to where I only need one side pull at the bottom. I just keep the Sorbo on the pole and adjust the angle while pressing it against the frame before I stutter start and clear the bottom in one pull.

RedRock… Nice video.

THanks. I looked into a wagtail last week. The guy said its probably not worth it for me as I only do 3 store fronts. I do mostly resadental. Anything to speed me up makes me happy

If you have 3 storefronts, you’re good with brass. Looks like you’re using a 20" brass; I personally think they get too flexy for big glass over 18" with brass. When I pressure the close out, the tail end lifts. My 24" and 36" Sorbos are for storefronts only, but have little flex, albeit not as precise. I like how they absorb off-road sealant jobs when the rubber is fixed well for the account.

Quick tip… Pop a step and do awesome, local accounts by hand if you’re visible by potential customers. Hair salons come to mind… In many case, it’s worth the time. I work with local storefront companies, and the owners generally want their home windows cleaned by me, followed by referrals and customers and folks walking around watching you work. My marketing strategy is to appear different, be myself, and be trustworthy. It’s worked so far… I’ve yet to send out flyers and I’m alive.

As I get older I just start thinking of ways to work smarter. One thing I changed a while back was using a solution bottle instead of always bringing a bucket of water with me all the time.
There are times when I still bring the bucket out ( big stops ). But it’s limited

If you guys keep bending your backs down like that on every pull it will take its toll. Nothing wrong with it other than it looking awkward

Glad to see your using big tools . When your doing store fronts one size doesn’t fit all , but it’s good to have it when situations call for it.

Keep up the work. How is the knee Or leg …something broke right ?

I was on crutches for a bit, but am doing okay with the knee, thanks! I definitely feel it in my back a bit more for lowers as I’ve been nursing the knee, but it’s fine for now. I was watching someone with a big channel fanning down to the ground with some kind of wagtail/sorbo combo, so I’ll probably start doing lowers with a stick. Now that I think about it, a lot of the glass I do stops at knee to waist level, so I’m not having to bend too far down; it’s pop-swoosh-pop-swoosh-bap. I don’t like those corporate style divided lowers. I’ve been fanning those and closing out to the side by hand. I want to get better with fanning with a stick below my shoulders so I don’t have to bend down…

Great cleaning! Out of curiosity, how long did it take you do this store front and how much did you charge? I am in the early stages and trying to get as much information as I can.

That store I clean inside and out each month. I Can do it in 2 hours by myself. I won’t tell you the exact amount I charge, but its over $200.

Doing the inside do you let them know ahead of time before you get there to move stuff from the fronts of the windows or do they have you do it?

Nice video, that looks like a fun one!

I just go. I don’t tell them when I’m coming. I move the stuff myself.
