Cleaning Acrylic Windows?

Good Evening!

A window cleaning newb here. I have owned my own pressure washing company for the last 7 years and due to arthritis in both shoulders, I will be expanding into window cleaning at the start of the new year. My question for you seasoned professionals is have y’all had any experience with acrylic windows? All of my work is in a retirement community and these windows are prevalent in the community. What solution would one use and any other tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you have bad shoulders window cleaning is going to hurt too.

Before my grandfather retired from window cleaning he got arthritis in his shoulders due to the repetitive movement of window cleaning. If you stopped pressure washing to take on window cleaning because of arthritis in your shoulders your in for a surprise.

Here’s the thread. Acrylic Glass

A couple other guys said what I came to say. Welcome to the jungle anyway.

Acrylic Guidelines: (Plastic) No tree products…paper towels. No ammonia…it will haze. Touching it will scratch it. Dirt is like sand paper on Plexi. The cycle shops buff this stuff on used bikes. Consult a body shop on how they restore plastic headlights. I have seen them use a compound that rubs off a thin layer and scuffs it; then another compound on a soft buffing pad on an air grinder…nice, but wavy when you look close. I have used glass plus on plexi lecturns. Heavy spray or wet applicator. Wipe. Light spray and wipe. Cotton towel. Light spray, wipe with lint free cloth. Have not tried micro fiber. Have had spectacular results with glass plus. Just remember, any scrubbing will scratch. Irrigate that sucker. Not an expert. Just two cents from life experience.
