Call it destiny

So today I was helping my grandmother by putting up a roof with felt, I was talking to her about starting my window cleaning venture in a few weeks. Now when I left she was leaving to give her sister and some man a lift. She ended up finding out he was an unlicensed and uninsured window cleaner who’s on the dole(unemployment benefits). He’s been caught out twice and he’s selling up his round. He’s sold his first round for £4500 and now he’s selling up this one for £1500.

So she told me about him and I phoned him up. I’m going to meet today at 6pm.

He’s selling 100 houses they average around £6.00 per house. They are all in my area and easy to reach. Just outside only windows and the guy doesn’t drive. He’d be giving me all his equiptment and taking me on the run, get me to know the trade and speak to the customers. Telling them about the change.

How do I go about this guys? I work full time in a factory but I know if I take up this round that pays every 2-4 weeks I could get other customers and build on it and earn the £1500 soon.

I really need the experts advice.

Anything will help

i think if i was in your shoes id do it, buy it and start ASAP .

i say that because iv come across newbies who when they dont get immediate fantastic results when canvassing, get low and dejected and next thing i hear on the streets theyv quit .

[by contrast i can think of a 100 reasons why not to go ahead and buy him,but you cant be negative in this game or else youre doomed. ]

Buying this would take the start up steps away. I can then build on something thats already there. Any customer that I get besides his 100 I can add my price. Then eventually when I get alot I can add the price and hopefully keep most of the customers.

I just paid £200.00 deposit on the run of 100 houses. He’s taking me out on Wednesday to show me the run and clean with me. He will be letting the customers know about the change and I’ll also give them my business card to keep them. So by next week it’s all mines for £1500.00

I’m an ignorant American, but they do houses over there for, what, $7?

thats outside only on a monthly basis , most houses have ten smallish [think 3x3 4x4] windows . i THINK the prices/service, and how it works, is quite similar to doing storefront in the states

In the UK window cleaners aim to get runs (houses a few steps from eachother). We’d only clean the outside and be in and out in around 10-15 mins then on to the next one. The potential is anything from 3-6 houses per hour depending on distance and time. So £15-30 per hour ($18.56-$37.12). That’s not bad, it eliminates the indoor carry on that most of you deal with.

Edit: Although by some of the figures you guys talk about it seems like the earnings in America for Windows is huge.

Definitely more than that
