Bummed, lost an account today :(

I was subcontracting for a cleaning company that works for a home builder.
Taking care of the windows of the model homes they have on 5 different communities, monthly.
Its about 25% of our total monthly revenue.
Got a text this morning, that as of today everything is going to be put on hold indefinitely. They will call me next month if it will keep going. Due to "paper work and insurance investigation on the builder."
BS, because I spoke with some of the Sups this week and they’re already building 4 new communities.

Why can’t people just tell you straight out, “hey, we found someone cheaper, or the builder doesn’t wanna maintain the model homes anymore.”

Just bummed out. Rant over.

Sorry to hear that. :disappointed_relieved:

Sorry man. A text definitely makes it seem like a brush-off. I hope it’s not and things get back on track.

This will free you up to go find more work that won’t flake out on you! You can do it!

Dang. That’s rough. At 25% revenue loss, I’d have to let guys go. Maybe it will come back.

That’s a bummer to hear Dan, I hope your able to replace that revenue quickly.

exactly bro.

Text wasn’t very clear, so I had to call him and ask if the service was being suspended as of today or as of next month. I HAD to call him.

Yeah, now the pressure is on to fill in those days of monthly work.

I sub for the janitorial company that has the cleaning contract with the builder, not with the builder directly.

I work by myself, so thankfully I don’t have to pass on the bad news to any employees.

I hope I can. I will start contacting all the builders in the area.

I know it’s not my work or my work ethic, because I would bend over backwards and reschedule stuff just to do jobs for them when they called me last min or that same day.
Probably just someone cheaper that they found.

Look at it this way: It’s ONLY 25% of your monthly revenues. You didn’t put all your eggs in one basket. Now this is a blow, but it’s one from which you will certainly recover.

That’s rough, that’s why it’s better to get your own work. I mostly subcontact myself. Lost a Floor Buffing account that paid me half my monthly income all due to budget cuts. This year I am focused on Building my own business
