Bronze Wool WFP Brush/Sleeve- the Defeater of Hydrophobic Glass

Yes I have it and it is bronze.

This is the one I use you, can put a different scrubber material on it.

Nice video Heman. Always appreciate your input. So you made that one or you purchased it somewhere?

Yes I did make it.

You might be able to put the scrubber on the reach around.

That way you could scrub with a large bronze wool pad.

Then water pole it.

Just a suggestion I do not do much WFP work.

Phil Alexander has been wrapping steel wool around his WFP brush when he needs more scrubbing action than a hogs hair brush can deliver for many years. I think I will try that idea with two bronze wool pads. Unravel the pad wrap it around the brush and go to work. I like to keep things simple in my operation. ā€œLess is More.ā€ KISS

Phil uses hogs hair brushes a lot so I was thinking his idea may not work on a nylon brush because the bristles are farther apart on a nylon brush.

Hereā€™s another way to do it.

OOPs. Letā€™s try that again.

Not when hogshair bristles are wet: they clump together.

Thatā€™s right Larry. Perhaps the nylon brush would be a better choice.

Nice Randy. Thanks for working on that and posting the video. Thatā€™s the same brush I was thinking about putting it on, but I would definitely poke holes big enough for the regular pencil jet flow to shoot through the bronze wool, so I could rinse after scrubbing. Iā€™m definitely going to check out that Jflint Xtra reach pad.

Some guys over in the UK are saying the bronze wool doesnā€™t seem to work for them (changing the glass from phobic to phillic), anyone else had this on the US side? Or does it work on every window?

Karl- I havenā€™t yet used the bronze wool in this application yet, but will definitely post my results with the WCR community. I checked with Alex and the WCR store doesnā€™t have the ā€œJflint X-tra Reach Gold cleaning padā€, which is bronze wool, in the store right now, so I had to call up Jeff with JFlint and order one from him. Iā€™m going to poke holes in mine so I can make sure my water flows through the pad, for rinsing. But Iā€™ll try to do mutliple windows at multiple locations so we can make sure it works and isnā€™t a fluke. I hope it does work in all cases, because dealing with Hydrophobic glass has been the achilles heel of WFP for me since I started.

It has not worked on every window for me

The main issue with a bronze brush cover would be the lack of bristles to get into the corners. However a hybrid style brush (like the tucker) with a bronze block in the center and nylon bristles along the exterior of the bush would be awesome. Especially with first time cleans.
