Bidding and what to say

Customer - “Is that the best you can do?”

Me - “Well actually, if I added $100 to my price it would be better. An extra $200 would be the best”

I did not get the job, but was quite pleased with myself.

Just makes you want to say - “Well, I can always tack more onto it. How much more are you comfortable with?”

When someone gets rude, then it’s “game-on” in my book. Not that trying to negotiate a better price is rude, but this person was a jerk about it. I currently have a property manager blowing up my phone. Made a prospecting call and he basically hung up on me after I got to “my name is Paul and I have a window cleaning business…”. I called back and left a message that we must have gotten disconnected, but that my growing business was looking for office space to lease. I may take one of his next calls and tell him I just signed a lease, and then go back into my pitch just for the fun.
