Best Major For Business?

I apologize it was a huaka or something I can not spell, but fact.

Better story is the time I sat in Bosnia with a prof and a bunch of communist and she asked them who was going to get me smoke.

Nope. But he seems like my kind of guy.

Lol. You must of gone to oaksterdam or something.

haha, nope

Right. So it seems on your experience that college itself is useless for a small business owner focused on window cleaning. I’m 21. Been window cleaning for approximately 5 years now. Started in New York and work there every summer here and there. I had a good connect since my dad got me in and I worked for the boss. Was making $150 cash everyday and I saved much much money.

I do go to community college. Am going for a regular business administration degree here but once I transfer I can pick whichever degree I want. I just don’t know which one. And yes I want to go to college for a job to have as a backup plan. I assume I can get a job anywhere now that I think about it with whichever degree I get. What I’m saying is I may not get the most high paying job and it may be harder to land a job but once I do then that’s all that matters. A job out of college is just a short term plan to have before my business takes off.

Thank you. So you advise getting the piece of paper? I am leaning on business administration.

Yes I started the business. Cleared $95 revenue in the month of March. This month I am looking to clear around $300! Thanks!

Your opinion is 100% valid. An education is just basic stuff. Real world experience is everything! Just curious, what made you drop out of school so early?

Oh so you won’t be going to a university for all 4 years? You’ve already got some credits? Thatll definitely save you so money.

And yeah so far college hasn’t helped or taught me anything about a small business. A few details here and there are good information but I’ve gotten 10x the knowledge of business from books.

have a degree as a backup sounds like you dont mind failing at your business venture so you have much too consider

well tbh i started partying and getting into trouble at 13yrs old. so i wouldn’t ditch i just wouldn’t go. ran with a much older crowd many dead now, few in prison two serving life sentences.

so at 15 i was selling and using and could care less about school. at 16ys old inwas on 3rd or 4th car loved parting and turning wrenches. so i quit school and worked i was 6mos shy of 16 so there wasn’t a whole lot that could stop me.

when i hit 16 a neighbor invited me too church and after about 6mos of that some things finally led me too go with him and haven’t looked back since. just wasn’t a priority for me too go back too school. when the market tanked i went too colleg told them didnt have diploma or ged but wanted to take some courses. i graded high enough on placement tests and started some courses but the progress was so slow i dropped out lol

for me its always been hands on. regardless of office settings or in the field working with my hands. once ive learned how something works i can disassemble and repair or re assemble

Intersting story. Oh and I have a question on your perspective regarding this. My mom says to get a degree as a backup, etc. Work on the business and have a job whatnot cause “you never know what can happen.” Implying that my business or any business can fail so you need a backup. Even I said I wanted a business she was like “Have a backup job while also having a business” lol… That’s just ridiculous. She said do it because that’s what (Mike) does. Mike is a fake name but it’s this guy who works in New York as an employee because its an easy job and good pay while simultaneously also running a business generating at least 500k revenue. Pretty big business. I don’t want to have a job the rest of my life I want to run a business but the whole “Just in case” mentality pisses me off.

I pretty much know what I want to do just need some motivation.

im not opposed too education but ive run into so many people thinking a degree was the answer too all and wasted so much time and money and end up in career fields unrelated too their degree! lol that’s nuts.

once you figure out what you want too be when you grow up be decisive. constantly vacillating will ensure you never reach any of your dreams or goals.

we’ve often heard without a vision people perish i think it was zig zigler that said and where there’s blurry vision there’s Frustration!

mom is doing what moms do they worry and care for their young. in general women want security and dont risk take as often or as readily.

it was Cortés in 1519 that commanded his men too burn their ships! no turning back

Oh yeah I know about Cortes. Great stuff.

Yup. Your 21. I’m 60+++something…hang in, get the paper, do windows…study…get the paper…do windows, maybe diversify and be a tycoon…you have the rest of your life…get the paper…nobody can take that away from you. You might change your mind, decide to market something, discover a new line of business. Just sayin’. :sunglasses:

Thanks

This sounds like the beginning of a great autobiography. Is an autobiography something you’ve considered writing?

I was advised to do one. Started one years ago but haven’t done nothing with it. Currently we’re just overwhelmed with work so do see it happening soon either. Thanks though
