Best ledger for 8" sills? Polework

Thoughts? I don’t feel like paying 40 bucks for the wrong tool. I’m leaning towards the swivel but some yay or nays would help.

I’m not sure which ledger would be best for your situation (limited information given.) What I can offer as a suggestion try using an angle adapter and a Unger zero degree handle, it has covered me on 8+ in deep sills.

This video does not address the “which ledger is best” for your situation, but does show how you can use a zero degree and angle adapter to get to some deep ledges.

If you want to give the unger adapter with a 0 degree a whirl, let me know. Happy to let you try it

It depends. How high are the windows?

Top of windows are about 15’. Ledges about 10’.

I’ll post pics in a bit.

I say yay on a zero degree swivel. With an eighteen inch(or larger) channel and a long enough pole, you should be able to do horizontal pulls and close out just fine.

I use a swivel ledger with a wide body channel, it’s one of my main route work tools

You should be alright with the 9", but to play it on the safe side go wiTh a 16".

That may be a good idea since I have some set deeper into the wall. (Pic2, top right)

Thank you :hamburger:

Since it looks more like route work I would go with the swivel. I don’t like the swivel because I tend to be hard on my tools and the angle joint tends to break easy with the swivel. Even with the reinforced metal one they came out with the plastic broke and the metal would just bend. I went through too many. Now I have the non swivel kind as they will last forever. I have two the shorter one and the longest one. The shorter one stays in the bucket. Both are modified with an Ettore quicker release for wide body channel. Only bad part is the don’t swivel. I like the swivel one better but I’d rather not have to keep buying them.

What tool did you decide to go with for this situation @TheWindowCleanse?

I think the swivel since I’ll only be using it at one location every other week, so durability won’t be as much of an issue.

Love my ledger and 24’ Sobo . 15 years using on every job inside! Never used a ladder in side now

Never question the cost of a tool if it’s going to save you time. Saving time is where we make are money! Equipment cost is nothing compared to what we make in a year. Just buy it here and be done with it ! To worry about $40.oo tool when you can make over $100,00 a year by yourself with the right equipment just is not the worth the worry. Never be cheap about using good equipment.

Gotcha. You’ll notice that I said spending the money on the wrong tool, not spending the money on the tool itself. Thanks for the video too.

Ok I have spent $1,000 on wrong tools overall. But I have always tried out the new stuff .
Should be more like you

Here another one

W believe me I get it. I can’t tell you how much money I have spent on tools that just got tossed in the junk bin. I probably have 10 times the tools in the junk bin than I actually have in operation. It’s nice to have the junk bin though for those times when you “get inspired” and want to play around with things. Otherwise I would be tempted to buy new tools to play around with.
