For those who do you tube videos, has your YouTube activity benefited your marketing? If so how has it helped?
For me, myvideos are:
another search engine listing
A description of wfp, I often link to it in emails to avoid a wordy explanation
In a couple of months I will make videos for responsibid and they will be hosted on YouTube.
Later this year I will make a pressure washing commercial

No results. My channel is not directed towards my customers but to my employees and to fellow business owners, so I’m not expecting any marketing bennies. Good question though.

Window Gleam thanks for the response. So to be clear on the search engine listing does it help sell directly. In other words does it either help your ranking of your website in any way or do you get sales from your you tube channel where the channel was the first point of contact?
It helps sell as much as your website showing up in the search engine listing… and your Facebook. If someone clicks you video instead of a competitions website you’re marketing message is still in front of customer… not your competitors.
Make sure your video descriptions all include clear information about your business and links to your website.
Video would be considered a “lead source” rather than a "conversion tool’. Ie it’s designed to generate interest. Other products like responsibid are designed to close the deal and sell.

Google doesn’t weight it like they used to about 5 years ago you post a good optimized video it would rank 1 or 2 sometimes in hours but usually within a week

I also have a bunch of unlisted videos that I link to from my quoting software. They are short and a bit out of context if viewed alone… but these short clips can b very helpful to give a visual demo of something I talked about with a client.
I’ve made this one public for you when I embedded it in a quote this morning. Client has 29 housing units and was concerned about driving a cherry picker on the grass so I shared a clip that showed the pole. This one shows the frame cleaning and glass cleaning as two steps because I’m by the sea and it’s necessary to remove salt when windows only cleaned each year or longer.
It’s not advertising quality… but it helps explain what u discussed with customer
So many ways to use YouTube!
I would like to tidy up all the short clips I have, maybe edit out the parts specifically relevant to a customer, add opening and closing title and list them all publicly for the SEOness. One day!
Argh. This morning I Turned off embedding because it’s not sharing quality.
Now I try to share it with you lot and I can’t figure out how to allow embedding from my phone. Good planning 
Good tip that on including a link in the email to give the client a good visual.
Will be adopting that one myself.
